Good idea, probably a little more forgiving in the lighter frame than a 357!

You can't have a normal magazine release in cali, has to be difficult to release the mag, so they came up with a button you can depress with a bullet.

first one on google when you type in bullet button.  There may be different variants, and prices, but you get the idea.

It just replaces the mag release with an inset button, so you can't use a finger to swap mags

Got a buddy who does the tactical shooting comps and stuff.  He shoots with a bullet between his first two fingers (he's left handed), and can swap mags just as fast as someone without a bullet button.

Its just another retarded Cali law.  I bet all the criminals that carry ARs have bullet buttons too

This is where so many people get it wrong, but it isn't a straight black and white rule.  Post ban guns have to have it, while pre ban guns are good without it.  My friend got a colt ar15 right before the ban went through and is good to go without the bullet button, as well as the 30 round mags he had before the laws changed

I believe they have a date on them.  If not, grab the serial, I'm sure there's a source online or you can contact the company to find out when the gun was made.

Or you could just ask him how long he's had it
