My new baby; Springfield XD40.  Taking several days off and will be familiarizing myself with it and my new to me H&R .22 mag pistol (no pic till I get back probably) between hunts!

Upgraded two of my guns this weekend.

The M91/30 had a really worn out stock, lots of knicks and marks, showing it's age. So I decided to modernize it and turn it into a hunting/sniper rifle. Went with the ATI stock and very pleased with it. Bipod is a UTG unit and also equally happy with it for the price. Currently researching scopes.

The Mossberg 500 I added a Mossberg heat shield, a UTG tri rail mount, a Sun Optics 250 lumen light/laser combo and a sidesaddle 6 shotshell holder. I am extremely impressed with the Sun Optics light/laser. It was $80 from Cheaper Than Dirt and can run either the light and laser, just the light, or just the laser, and the laser is fully adjustable. It also came with a remote pressure switch but I decided not to use it. Don't think I will be doing anything else to my Mossberg.

Nice mosin nagant. Mine just sits in the corner because its so awkward and heavy. how much weight did it lose with that stock?   while im here here's a pic of my Savage in .300 WSM

To be honest I am not sure there was much of a weight difference. The wood stock weighs very little by itself. Might be a couple pounds lighter at most. I've been shooting Mosins for years so maybe I am just used to it, but they do definitely get heavy after a few hundred rounds. :gap:

im pretty sure its a model 11. im too lazy to get up and look. I'ld like to use my mosin as a back up deer rifle. thats why i was wondering about the weight. ill probably just refinish my stock and slap a scope on it.

in hindsight I would have got a 300 win mag or 30-06 or even a 270 because i like to target shoot for fun and i have to pay $10-$20 more per box then most ammo

This is a video from my favorite youtube poster. I could sit and watch him for hours. In reference to the 33 round clip start watching around 9:48. Good stuff.

Dude Hickok is the man

Yes he is. That gong is at 80 yards. Amazing. in one of his videos I've seen he is shooting at something up on the hill further out and hitting it regularly. Here's the Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFd3kF6LHz4&list=SP7A3EDDBBE4AC37D1

I used to be unhappy or dissatisfied with my Glock 23 until I found this guy, then I realized all my problems with the Glock were me. I just need a range like this in my backyard so I can shoot more.
