Mileage on your duals?
« on: Aug 20, 2010, 09:51:24 PM »
Just wondering how many miles are on people's dual cases. State your adapter's maker.

Marlin adapter. I can't quite remember when I put the duals in but my thread started in  April '09 and I had 218,000 miles with duals already installed. Now in September '10 I have 248,000 miles and the same duals :) . So, 40,000+ miles on my duals. Haven't changed a thing.

My mc05 adapter has ben in use since 2002, Ive had it since 2008 and put 10k on it. I would guess 25-35k, it leaks a little bit but other than that its problem free! When the shifter starts getting too hot to touch, just add 1/2 quart and its good for another 6 months

I got my dual cases January 2006 and Ive been daily driving on them since.  Not real sure of the mileage but Ive rode them hard offroading, rock crawlin and highway even towing using the crawler as a splitter.

:driving: only number i could find was 2919

My trucks got 256,000 miles on it and I'm guessing the marlin duals have about 100,000 miles on them.  No problems.  I use to daily drive my truck everywhere as well as several long trips to moab and colorado from california.  Its never been trailered anywhere.

I should have mentioned over 1000 of the miles on my mc05 were while the cases were in a trailerd crawler on 40's with 175lbs of water in each front tire. It is a 21 spline unit also

God only knows, I put the single case in it in 98. My 4:70 is #207. My MC07 is #717. My V-6 adapter is #018. I bought the truck in 98 and started wheeling it right after that, it had about 69,500 miles on it. It was used as a DD for about 2.5 years then it became a dedicated wheeler. Right now it has about 128,000 on the clock. It has been wheeled on trails like 4-Dice, The Con, Hammers, Moab and trails with no name. This year I took the T-cases to Marlin and they went through it. Only replaced two bearings and a shifter ring. Marlin asked if I ever take it out of 4-wheel drive ;)
