I didn't know where to post this so if it gets moved, just tell me where it went. Now on to the subject at hand. Does anyone have any experience with these "rock lights?" http://www.visionxusa.com/LED-Tantrum/c1_24/p108/LED_STROBE_AND_ROCK_LIGHT_KIT_SUPERWHITE/product_info.html

Ya same here.  I am sure they would light up the rocks ok enough to see but not bright enough for my blind ars.
I just use 55W driving lights tho I am really pushing the limits of my poor 40amp 1st gen alt.  I am gonna swap to a 2nd gen 60amp soon.

The LED's are awesome, they don't pull hardly any power (amps), but the draw back on these particular light is that they are not very bright. Oh well..   :beerchug:

I agree the LED lights are amazing and u can run 10 of them verse 4-5 halogens. The main reason I like halogens is the type of light they produce isnt white bright or I guess you could say they are softer.  Either or if I could get my hands on some good led's I would give them a shot since they are so small and easy to mount.

What was the total cost? Compared to the $119.00 tantrum system is your set more cost effective and how was installation?

it was 150 for the lights plus like 5 buck for a piece of flat stock to make the mounts for the plus 15 for wire that what my total was. installation was easy just bent some metal trying to find small ass screws was my only problem then just running the wire and waiting for night to fall so i can make sure they were in the right spots

Firefox let me down recently, but I don't know about the nonscript thing, and I don't generally trust fng's when their first post includes a link  :dunno:

Ok, so what exactly did you get?

I had chosen the Round eyes Led's last year. If I were to get led's again I'd go with the Oznium floods. The Round Eyes are great for there size , just not bright enough as rock lights.

The VisionX system is cool.  I put it in my enclosed trailer for lighting.  3 was more than enough for tons of light inside.  I would say the are super bright for what they are but I have no idea what they would look like on a truck facing the rocks.  I personally have 8 55w driving lights for rock lights and hate them.  The lenses always get busted, they draw sooo much, I always have a bulb going out... and so on.  Water is the enemy I suppose.

It kinda sounds like tractor lights FTL unless you have a high output alt and 2 batteries.
