Topic: 4wd dash indicator light goes on and off

Hey guys-

I have a 1988 Toyota pickup 22re 5 speed manual (w56). My problem is that my 4wd indicator light on my dash will randomly go on and off...and doesn't always even go on when I put it into 4wd and yes I'm positive that when I'm taking it out that 4wd is disengaged. I have looked at the manual and can't find anything too helpful. If anyone has any ideas or things to check out..wires etc. Let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the switch on the transfer case or the wires going to it.. if its that its a easy fix..  just a thought.

HDcruiser- I think you're on to something, I see a black wire that isn't connected to anything. When the rain stops ill check into it. Thanks

Usually its a single wire. i've had my break off from being weathered and old. If its a bad connection it can flicker on and off when in 4wd. use a heat shrink butt connector and repair the wire. good luck bro.

Problem solved. I knew that the wire had broken loose, but I couldn't seem to find the other end...eventually I did. Put a but connector like you said and done.
