I believe they were only made in '90.  IIRC, Ford and Chevy went ape shiit over the 2-door, after they came out.  $2k is pretty cheap seeing how rare they are, the used car dealer either doesn't know what he has or doesn't care.

To bad it has a 3.oh in it, Don't think in Cali you can swap a V6 to 4cyl from a older year (87) Or Id buy it lol

^^No you can't, engine has to be the same year or newer.  It wouldn't be worth swapping a 22r for the 3.0(less hp/torque), unless the engine was bad.

dont some early 90'S 4runners have a 22re? youd be able to swap a 3.0 for a 4 banger in that situation right?

It doesn't matter what type of engine/or # of cyls. the original engine was/had, the engine just can't be older than the truck.  You could use an older block, but you still need to use the right top end and ecu.  I am not sure if this applies to diesels as well, but from what I have read it is getting a lot harder to do a diesel swap then it used to be.

oh so you can do the swap from a 3.0 to 4cyl for a 1990 then. gotta love california..

They are kind of neat and rare.. .but if Im gonna have a two door runner, just give me a first gen so I can at least take the top off!
