yes your springs need to be able to separate to get full drop.

Mine make the same noise but not all the time, kinda depends on how much mud/water/debri etc is in em at the time =p doesnt bother me tho. I wouldnt clamp your spring tho.

to each his own i guess. just flex it out and measure. then take the clamps off and measure. you will see.  if your just into trail riding then i'll bet you will be fine.

hey guys   me again  when i turn right or left the front pops . you can feel it tru  the floor board.everything is tight and torqued . i havent  went in the knuckles  yet to check the bearing nuts but i cant feel any play in the tires when i had it  jack it up.it seems to geting worse now it pops several time when i turn it.. everything in the frontend is new, bearings, seals, gears .and new axles (longfield 30s)  only 300 miles on them. noway it can be the birfields. only had it in 4 wheel drive one time. some times it pops when i hit a bump . ???you guys have any ideas on what it can be. o yea it didnt start poping untill i went up a little trial thats was washed out.it  wasnt bad  anuff to use 4 wheel drive .
rebuilt with TrailGear trunion bearings?? your trunion bearings are most likely in pieces.
