What's up, I'm Jon from Bakersfield, Ca. I've been watching this forum for a little while, and finally started up an account.

I currently just sold my 1998 Taco and looking for an 85' 4Runner rock crawler, I'm looking into buying a complete rig set up, or a rig that just needs some TLC.  I dont have enough time to start a 4runner/crawler from bone stock since i dont have the time due to having other toys i need to finish.

I Got a rig today!  :beerchug:   Pictures don't do justice for how clean this rig is... now in my hands, shes gonna get a new face lift..

1985 Toyota 4Runner 22RE with 206,000 miles. Rebuilt motor, tranny and axles 20,000 miles ago. Replaced stock t-case with 5:1 t-case from Inchworm at that time. 4.88's front and rear. Detroit locker in the rear, limited slip in the front. New head, new clutch and new interior less than 6 months ago. 3 inch Downey suspension lift. 2 sets of rims, 3 sets of tires, all 33"s (super swamper ssr's, baja claws, bfg all terrains).

Finally got some free time this weekend and built some pretty sweet rock sliders... Damn their strong.. They took a good beating and didnt budge an inch when testing them out.

Thats what i would think but i don't see any bolts in the picture. Maybe i need glasses. It also looks like fresh paint around them. I'd say their welded

Gixxer Jon

I WELDED THEM ON!

When i was at the metal yard, they didnt have any 4" flat plate in the rem pile so it was cheaper to buy the base plates for $1 each.. So that was the route i went...

Gixxer Jon

I didn't bolt the sliders to the frame, I wanted strength so i welded the sliders to the frame!

Of course when you need a camera, you don't have one.. Went out last night before it got dark and went up some dried up waterfalls. then came back down for some night action...

I was pretty impressed, the rig crawled right up em with no problems. one was about 4-1/2 to 5 ft then the other water fall 7-8 ft tall...

were gonna go back when its daylight and take pics
