When I start my 22re when its like 5 degrees or colder, I get a whining bearing noise. It only happens when its cold and once it runs for 10 minutes and warms up, the noise goes away. not too concerned but does anybody have an idea of whats making the noise?

when its that cold you should run a thinner motor oil, what motor oil are you running now??

When it's cold my truck makes a noise for just a few seconds, it's the power steering in my case. I think the fluid gets real thick and it takes a second for it to get pumping.

go down to 30wt in the motor. Also make sure you have plenty of antifreeze.

i use 10w-30 all year. yotanate, that sounds very plausible. the cooling system is all set and good.

Yeah my power steering whines for about 5 seconds when its real cold too

I'd guess power steering too......

You could remove some belts to isolate it.
