Lost My T-Case Interlock Pin, Do I Really Need It?
« on: Dec 11, 2009, 05:53:55 PM »
I was freshening up a used forward shift T-case and I either lost the interlock pin or it was missing.

I'm running the stock shifter, do I really need the pin? How will the shifter behave without it?

If I do need it, can I make one out of a roll pin or some round stock? Anybody have the dimensions of one?

i dont have one in my cases and i have the same setup as you. i didnt notice anything different without it i know that if you have twin sticks you have to remove it. it basically locks out the 2wd from low range making it only posssible to shift one shift rail at a time

without it you might "lose" the shift fork,  you could find it again but chances are you would have to pull the shifter out to find it.

you could make one from a roll pin i guess but i'm sure Marlin could get you one for not much,
did you make sure its not down inside the tcase??

I completely disassembled it, cleaned it up and inspected everything. I don't know if the pin was missing or if it hit the floor and rolled somwhere when I pulled it all apart. I can't find it.

I have to find a speedo drive gear too. It is a little rough and is chewing up the plastic speedo gear.  Otherwise, the T-case looks good. I'm going to reseal it and run it.

If it doesn't hurt anything I may run without it.
