W56 Interlock Pin Question
« on: Jan 22, 2009, 01:08:38 PM »
Could someone please tell me how many interlock pins are in a 5 speed W-56 and which pins go where?  I am confused.  I have 3 pins.  I know where the long one goes; however, I have 2 shorter ones that have me confused.  They have the same length but different diameters.  Thanks!

Long pin  5.95mm x 28.60mm between 1/2 and 3/4 shift rod
Smallest pin  3.96mm x 11.20mm in the middle bore of the 3/4 shift rod
Middle pin  5.92mm x 13.60 between 3/4 and 5/Rev rod.

It always helps to use grease to hold them in place  .

Thank you Marlin.
Should there be another Middle sized pin (5.92mm x 13.60) through the reverse shift head?  I am not talking about the rollpin.  Thanks again.

Yes there is, however you only asked about the three, and that is all that I measured.
You didn't think I knew this from memory now did you?

Remember to use a good quality high temp disk grease to hold the pins in place.
