Ok, once in a great while my truck won't start. But if I give it a few more chances it always starts. But this morning I had to snag the mother-in-laws scooby. Cause it wasn't gonna start this morning. When it happens, you can hear a relay on the kick panel just above the ECM click, but no starter engagement. The wires are all good, no corrosion the last time I looked. The battery cable is new and heavy duty with sealed ends. Starter is newer and tested like new when motor was dropped in. Is it possible the relay on the fender under the hood that is starting to go?
Got home tonight and it started up first hit, but ran really rough, due to the extra gas in the intake. Like it always does, but right away, and not 8 hours later.
I thought I came across a upgraded starter wiring harness at one time. I can't find anything on the net today. But I might be confusing it with Roger Brown's headlight harness?
Any ideas are helpful. I just got to be overlooking something simple. We are talking a very simple wire system just for the starter.
