Marlin dual case hard to get into 2Hi
« on: Oct 20, 2009, 06:39:39 PM »
I was out this weekend doing a lot of shifting from single reduction, dual case reduction, and also 2Hi. I found on numerous occasions that I had a tough time getting my rear case from 4Lo or 4Hi to 2Hi. It came out of gear easily but even if I bumped the rig forward or reverse it was hard sometimes. It's actually the first real trip it's been out since the build. Is it a common thing? Is there a technique or trick?

sometimes you need to back up,  or get on some loose dirt,  if on hi traction surfaces  it can and will bind,  changing direction will alleviate this

Try pulling it out and putting it while slightly rolling.

I was on pretty level ground, tried moving forward and back a bit also and was always in loose dirt. May just take some getting used to and a bit more break in?
