Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

W-H-A-T????????? The guy hasn't done ANYTHING. Maybe after his 4 years are up and he's done something, but this is CLEARLY a political move and someone seriously paid someone off to get that award for Nobama.

Nobama said he was "surprised" by the award.

There were a record 205 nominations for this year's peace prize. Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Chinese dissident Hu Jia had been among the favourites. Instead the committee chose Mr Nobama, who was inaugurated less than two weeks before the 1 February nomination deadline.

Asked why the prize had been awarded to Mr Nobama less than a year after he took office, Nobel Committee head Thorbjoern Jagland said: "It was because we would like to support what he is trying to achieve".

Support what he is trying to achieve? What is this BS? Nobama will receive $1.4 million dollars for this award.

He was nominated fair and square after serving as President of the United States for a full 11 days! That's all it takes for the truly enlightened people (Euro-Socialist-intellectuals) to recognize O's greatness and that, He, by merely making a plan or conceptualizing a solution has indeed changed the world.

I thought the nobel prize was for actual accomplishments, not for attempts. Just another way personal vendettas and politics have made a mockery of something that was once good and honorable

I am speechless, well maybe not. What a joke! They just made a mockery of everyone that has ever received the Nobel Peace Prize, it now ranks with other entertainment awards such as the Oscars that have been giving what I call The Trend Awards. (depends on what gender, race or religious affiliation deserves recognition this year).

I actually think they are trying to buy him, considering the people he sent to Afghanistan to see where they need help are requesting for more troops to end the conflict there. That's about as low as they can get, if I were Obama I'd have said thanks but no thanks, give it to someone that truly is trying to make peace instead of creating peace through violence.

I think the absolutely is causing the problem for the yes votes, I know when I first glanced at it I thought it was NO and "Absolutely not".

It seems more like he bought the award, or it was purchased for him. There is simply no possible way for the Nobel Committee(5 members) to justify him winning after only being in office 11days, as well as having done nothing in his previous life to justify someone nominating for the award.

I guess he should have offered the IOC members more money than he did the Nobel committee.
