When i flexed it out i got 47" to the center of the hub before a tire lifted. :dunno: and both the front pass and rear driver tried to lift at the same time. so it seems fairly balanced. or as if both front and rear work about the same

I vote 35s they look awesome

89sastoyo

I'd have to disagree extra cabs are long haha small tires are hard to wheel with on them I mean my truck did amazing with them untill I got in rocks and I was hung up on my xmember more then I thought I could have ever been. If you trim them fenders up it'd look tits.

yeah for sure my trucks getting pretty much done I have a couple things to do and im wheelin every weekend i can. I probably won't be able to go on a big trip untill summer or spring atleast because I still need to put money into a couple other projects and get everything going lol.

As far as the poll goes I think flatbeds are ugly unless there done really really well which is not common in my eyes. I would just leave the bed on untill its toast then move on if wanted. But keeping a bed on my truck has grown on me a lot I wanted to back half it a while back and I wouldnt ever consider it now... just a thought

My truck never had any problems on 33s for the stuff i can do. Im pretty much doin all the trails locally to be done until you have a buggy. Theres a few spots where if i had bigger tires i could take a harder line maybe but mostly I can hit most of the harder trails that are near me.

Also goin taller isnt really the answer for me. Lotta off camber stuff here. If i had gone with fullwidth axles i would run the 40s no questions but until I get a bunch wider Im probly gonna stay off em.

and cehck out the recent pics, my bed is backon. I just cant remember how to edit a poll... :headscratch:

I saw that it was on I just didn't know if it meant like take it off and build a flat bed or cut and bob the bed.

But you don't have to be tall to be on 4ds but if there is no need then there is no need so understandable it'll be easier on parts and nicer to drive with 35s anywhooo

Honestly, I have run 35s for years and pretty much everyone I wheel with is at the 40+ stage with a very few running 37s. I keep up just fine. It all boils down to if you can drive or not. I ran Fordyce and Rubicon as the "smallest" rig in my groups and I kept up fine. If anything, it is incredibly satisfying to hit a section and dominate it right after a truggy on 44s just went through, telling you to take the bypass so you "dont get hurt"

Totally agree for sure makes it much more challenging and you also have to pick your lines well. there are just some trails up here that are rutted out so bad and rock that its near impossible without enough axle clearance

Yeah axle clearance is the biggest issue. Just makes picking your line that much more challenging... :D

speaking of axle clearance how much can be realistically shaved out of an axle? Iv got a spare housing for both front and rear axles and plenty of time.

I realllllllly wanna drive it today. I gotta finsih drillin steering box holes and then extend my shaft grind calipers and bleed brakes and i should be able to go for a drive...

why grind the calipers??

Also I personally dont think its worth it to shave them if its a DD because toyota diffs are already small and don't have a lot of oil capacity and that makes it less which causes heat and is not legit in my eyes but... thats just me I guess you could use 75-140?? and it would help

we both have the IFS hubs on our axles and we did it without the Sky Kit by moving the caliper on the other side of the ears.... which makes the backside of the wheels contact it.

Ill post a pic of mine in a sec.

Here's a pic of how much my aluminum wheels required to be ground.

my steel wheels on the other hand would have needed most likely none.
its all in the design of the wheel. every one will be different.

i still had to take a lot off with my steelies. not quite that much but the first rib was pretty much gone.im still gonna get wheel spacers.

Next time i go to see my bro hes gonna hook it up with some badass full synthetic gear oil that goes for like $38 a pint. Hes gettin me a couple gallons free  and when i tear my front end back apart im gonna go get some of that red trucker duty grease for all my bearings.

But i got the truck driving today. pretty crazy with no shocks but it drives straight and has more power than before since i ditched the IFS. I need to still get a driveline but im gonna bootyfab something together for now... then i gotta get another IFS brakeline to extend my driver side do my trunions check/fill front diff then swap my rear diff over the the open 4.37s. ALso i might be gettin a second set of 4.37s since my buddy wants to trade for a set of v6 4.10s iv got from my truck and the rolled runner.  thatll be cool since iv heard 4.37s like to go kaboom.

Il try to post up some pics tomorrow flex and steering box and the whatnot

you had 4.30s :slap:

Nate (kneedownnate) said he blew up a few sets on top of what you had happen. I guess they just added an extra gear to the pinion huh? id like to see a 4.30/37 pinion next to a 5.71 for comparison

i guess every diff is different. Iv had a few peop[le tell me dont run em at all and others say watch out for noise early on and different stuff.

I still havent gotten a chance to swap mine into the rear since i had to redrill the flange. I hope it came out straight :crossed: then iv got to redrill the front one as well.

can i swap just the pinion flange over without messing with anything else or is it gonna be a screwed up deal playing with crush sleeves or shims? iv never had a diff apart before to look and drilling it out is a pain in the ass.

well i got shocks and driveline today for 2 12packs. shocks arent exactly what i want/need but theylkl get me started and it beats the hell out of no shocks at all. theyre i think a 9.5" travel shock so they might limit my droop some. ill find out when i get a chnace to do a test flex and measure. The driveline is a rear driveline im gonna shorten and see how it works if its enough slip for now and then if it isnt il take the ends to a driveline shop and havem make me a long travel
