Are we guessing caliber or model?  Looks like a heavy octagonal barell, so I'm guessing it's a bigger round like 45-70, and the finish looks like a navy arms  :dunno:

Edit:  new page, we need more pics    Lemme see if I can dig up a pic of my mauser...  And I'm hopefully going to turn in some recyclables tomorrow and get enough money to pay for my hunting license  :crossed:

but is it a 30-30?

I'm thinking no since he has people guessing.  Why go with the most popular cartidge  :dunno:

Looking at it again, I can't tell what type of barell it has for sure with my crappy moniter.

what do you guys know about fitting a 6 point bull elk in your yota's bed?!

kneedownnate

I wish I could say I knew all too well about that, but I don't.  I do know that'll get you a ticket in california now since they passed a new law saying it's illegal to "show off" your kill in your truck bed  :shake:  You're not supposed to be able to see dead game in the back of a rig.  I mean, I'm not vein enough to need strangers to approve of my kill, I just think it's ridiculous to enact such a law.  Not taking a dig at you, big congrats on the kill  :gap:

I would say you gotta be kidding, but I know you better than that.

Makes ya wonder how some laws get passed. Some rubbernecker caused a traffic accident, blamed the dead critter, and hired a lawyer?

So, draping it across the hood and parading through town is probably frowned on too...   :gap:

Yea, they probably hired the uber-shifty Barr and Mudbritches  :shake:  It's sad a law like that passed, but I have to believe the majority of wardens think it's bs too and won't enforce it.

Hmmm, Revolutionary War Era = 1700s, Winchester lever action repeater = 1800s.   :headscratch:

Civil War Era, maybe?

.44 caliber Model 1866?
