UJ when i  painted my 4runner i just  tried to pick good body lines to follow  (ie) my stripes are the same angle as the rear fender  of a 2nd gen .    I would start your first strip a little farther back closer to your door handle   and make the Orange stripe wider than the yellow

unclejpl4x4

FL to answer your shout box ?  the whole truck will be painted red  except where the white would be   then  was gonna do the yellow ornge strips then the black pin striping last.

NOw as for the hood  should i leave it white  or somthing like this

I dig that paint scheme on the first gen, just don't know if it'd look right on the 3rd.  Look up the paint scheme they had on ivan stewarts' 3rd gen, it's similar but fits the lines better.

I found this   site http://www.toyotareference.com/truck#TR79

doss this look right
white 003   , yellow 541 , orange 358

I see the paint code for that style is 2A5  but that don't help me unless the apin shop can look it up and give me the red and white and what not.

use some cutter
found at most automotive paint stores.

it will make it all look like new again.
wax it after words,

toyota oem paint in my opinion is great.
dont chip as easy as any after markets.

kneedownnate

If his paint faded like that it aint yota paint  ;)  Looks like part of the truck was repainted at some point.

toyota red is bad for oxidizing
look at the late 90s tacos

kneedownnate

Perhaps, but the 2nd gens and 3rd gens (at least early 3rd gens) had clear coats, hence why you see so many with faded, peeling clear coats.  Not sure if they used single stage or not on the tacos  :dunno:
