Sell it? Keep it? Part it out? Help!
« on: Jun 19, 2009, 01:29:52 PM »
I have an 84 toyota pick up 22 R
The good:
8 inch suspension lift (little too hi for me)
set up for on board air
high steer
2003 c class mercedes seats
37 inch super swampers
wheelin lights all over
Chevy springs

The bad:
3 inch body lift
No front drive shaft
no rear shocks
stock gears
no locker
Doesnt pass smog
not registered
and an extremely large amount of weird wiring issues.

I bought this truck when my other 84 got stolen. I got that truck back in the same condition it was stolen in. So now I have 2. I dont have the time or knowlege to fix the flat bed one on my own.
Some people say sell it... Some say part it out... and some say keep it. What should I do?

Sounds to me like it is going to dip into your pocket book quite a bit... So take what you want from it and part out the rest as you will probly not get to much for it with all it needs. Good luck  :smack:

Only you can decide...if you've the extra space/time/money/skills, then hell, might as well at least keep it for parts. What condition is your truck you got back from being stolen in? If it's much better...well then no reason to keep this messed up thing. But those seats sound nice...a lot of other stuff on it sounds nice too. Take what you want and sell the rest? Right, what bigbs84 said.

if you can't fix it yourself, probably best to sell it.... sounds liek you don't want or need anotehr truck anyways

I dont need it but I would love to keep it and build it up (its a good start) which I have the money for but I just dont have the time.
I guess I'm just trying to figure out the best way to make my money back. I'd either like to sell this one and buy a daily driver so I can start building up the nice one (since I'm driving it to work and everywhere else right now.)
Or, part it out and do the same...

Thanks for the advice

i say fix it,   ditch the body lift  and 37    say for 33s  then U don't got worry about gears and lockers till U save up.  shocks ar cheap and easy 2 put on.

as for smog  :dunno:     and for the wiring  just go over the harness and fix whats bad.

i say part it out, it sounds like its lifter WAY too high for anything remotely practical

parting it out if you have the space/time will bring more $

It's ridiculous I was going to make a rope ladder for it since most my friends cant get in without almost breaking a bone. The seats are pretty sweet but cant do much with those.

Can you load pics through photobucket? They will come out bigger and clearer? Thanks  . Maybe I missed it but, where are you located? and how much do you want for the 35" tires?
