well today i found up i got screwed.... i ordered everything to do my duals from Robs Offroad in clackamas Oregon, i ordered through them i MC07-R10 Adapter and a front rage offroad X-member/skidplate combo spent about 700 bones for that and put everything together and bolted the x-member to the back of the case and found out that i didnt get what i ordered. i got a non-clocked adapter because when my x-member is bolted up the driver side of the x-member is around 3 inchs above the fram and the passanger side is at the bottom of the frame! i wasnt sure if it was the x-member messed up or the adapter. so i tryed to bolt the skid plate on and only the rear case will bolt to it. ann the bottom of my cases are as flat as can be. witch lead me to the point that i got screwed! What should i do!?!?

-try and take back my X-member/skidplate and buy a bud built?
-or take my cases apart and take that back and get the R10 adapter?
-fab the Shi* to work

toyotanner

if marlin had the budbuilts in stock i would have bought one but the trailgear one works fine

or i would just call frontrange and see if they will exchange it

toyotanner

doesnt hurt to call and ask just tell them that you tried to order a clocked adapter and clocked xmember but for whatever reason you didnt get a clocked adapter and you need a non clocked adapter....
isn't the r10 more expensive? you might have to just take back the adapter and tell robs you paid for the r10 and you want it NOW! lol

Halladay

I know i think its robs offroads fault because rob himself was the one who ordered it and he is not the sharpest tool in the shed. i dont see marlin messing up somthing like that. and rob told me the r 10 is the same price as the non-clocked one.... doesnt make scence to me.... i want my money back and buy the trail queer X-Member! lol

...I wouldnt have posted that on a 4wd forum which most of the people whom work at robs probably read... But If you are polite and take it back explaining them what happend and can prove threw your recipt or there copy on the comp that a clocked adapter was ordered im sure they will kindly take it back and just sell it for a discounted price.. since its been opened but never used. That is what there doing with robs whole truck because of it being totalled.

As mentioned above, you need to think about how you phrase your words, and the thread title doesn't help either.  You're speaking negatively about a shop that (as far as we know) is guilty of nothing more than making a mistake on an order.  :pokinit: happens.  yeah, its a PITA for you, but if you take it back to them, they should make it right.

Customer service isn't shown when everything goes as planned, its how the shop handles things when they get screwed up.  Thats really where it comes to light.  Regardless of how you want to handle things, the very first thing you should have done is gone to the shop, and worked it out there.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been in customer service in one way shape or form for a lotta years. No matter who is wrong, a little or a lot of politeness goes a long way. You dont wanna burn a bridge that you've been crossing for a while now according to your post.

Just went to robs offroad and they cant do anything but send it back and i pay shiping so i am going to just sell it and buy a non clocked crossmember. it wasnt robs offroads fault cause there invoice says MC07-R10 adapter so it was marlins fault by sending the wrong part.

so..get the right part from marlin. Chances are slim to none that you will get what you paid for for that crossmember by selling it on craigslist. But Who knows. Or I would just pay the shipping. Can't be that much.

hey hall sorry about your troubles but do you have any advice i am about to start my first sas. what problems did you encounter and what was the hardest part?

fixed it for you :disturbed:

86rustbucket...
its not as hard as it seems to be honest with you the hardest part and most time is cutting out the ifs. other than that its all pretty simple and if you have problems post them up on this website and someone will help you out. i made the mistake of trying to make the little things such as u bolt plates frame tubing and shackles. spend the money and it will be no problem if you can weld and use a grinder. Good Luck man keep us posted and make a build up.

86rustbucket

thanks man so the hardest part is the work part huh, whod a thunk it?

Halladay

no problem i have alot of pics of my sas so if you need to check some out or ask a question about anything just give me a yell!  :beerchug:

86rustbucket

i hear you should use ifs rotors do you use the ifs hubs?what did you do?

Halladay

you can use the ifs rotors or fj 60 rotors but you have to buy a adapter from skys offroad. its a good way to go because you wont need to run wheel spacers. and as far as the hubs go im pretty sure you can run the ifs ones. i carry the extra ones that same of my ifs for spares on the trail.

i bought my axel complete hub to hub and i am running the solid rotors still, untill i get my fj rotors.

86rustbucket

thats the only thing iv been wondering about because the hubs are bolted to the rotors i'll probably try to use my ifs rotors and hubs but im sure someone on here will correct me if thats wrong

Halladay

if you are running the ifs rotors the hubs will work, im not sure if they will or will not work with fj rotors or solid rotors

I spoke with Robs offroad yesterday about your order, on the invoice there was a non rotated adapter. So you should definitely reconsider your post here.  Let me know if I can help.  :turtle:
