single chain on double gears?

can you run a single row chain on double chain gears?

whos done it if you have dose it work? :dunno:

no big deal just tryin to get this head swap done today and i wud have to wait till friday for single gears...

i have never done one but   the deck height are different between the 2

may i ask why would you want to run a single row chain ?

NO don't even try it


run the old dual chain if you need to but

ive been told i have to...
i put a 84 head on a 92 block
now i have to go back and change to a 88 head with a shorter chain and they dont make OEM double short chains

LC engineering has the conversion kit for the shorter double chain.

They should sell just the chain too.

talked to engine builder on the phone yesterday and he said they did a pull test and they both broke at the same point...
