So I dont have the time to finish my FJ40 project. Do any of you want to do it or know a shop that wont rape me to finish it. It can be long term, up to six months from now. Needs to be in relativley close driving distance from Tehachapi.

what I could think of that needs to be done
1. drivelines redone
2. finish roll cage (mount seats)
3. finish front fenders
4. brake line routing
5. finish wiring, mount comp.
6. exhaust
7. mount gas tanks and lines
8. paint and line x (ill do this)

problems seem to never end.
1. got the steering shaft in but it rubs in 2 spots
2. got my bezel and front hoop but both need some fabbing to fit
3. fitting my radiator but there is very little clearance between it and the fan.
I know its simple :pokinit: but i just dont have the time to modify everything.

for the steering shaft I have about 6" to play with, so im going to cut down the bigger shaft which should lower the area of contact on the header.
For the radiator my buddy was saying ill need to cut off the stock locating pins on the bottom and move the rad. over more to the passenger side.

I put those issues on hold till i finish the cage.

looks like a nice build.  a buddy of mine had his in the garage as a slow build for about 4 years. last year he finally got it finished enough to drive over to my place so i could do the fabwork on it.   i ended up doing cage, front bumper, tube fenders and tire carrier.  its a really good looking 40.  i typically dont like most of the 40 builds, but his turned out great.  heres a shot of it

Nice, can I come drop mine off too? LOL.  Are the front metal tech fenders blended in with the stock fender aprons? Would you/he happen to have a build thread?

yeah you can drop it off!  its probly a long drive to south dakota for you though haha.  those are not metal-tech fenders, i built those too.  everything on that rig has been custom fabbed except the tube doors, i think those are made by redline.  I dont think he has a build thread. if he does, it would be on ih8mud.  i will have to ask him next time i see him.  I had a bunch of pics of all the work i did too it, but cant seem to find them right now.

got the clearance worked out on the shaft, had to shorten it about 3". Also got started on the lines, should be done by tomorrow.
What do you guys think about the placement on the cross bar? should it go more in the bend?

The cross bar placement looks good. Just make sure that you have enough clearance for your sun visors and windshield wiper motor. That front bumper looks pretty trick! Good to see that your steering is working out, that stuff can be a challenge.
