looks good bud and I like the simplicity of the sliders but dont you think they'd be more effective with the wider flair towards the rear? not knockin just my :twocents:

edit: you're probably going for more clearance/protection of the a pillar/ windshield frame?

looks like a good build. you could always just switch the sliders to the opposite sides if it doesnt work like they are. :dunno:

I just sold my 70' to a friend. Just had no time to do anything with it. Now that this is your only project,
Hopefully you can get er done.

I'm curious though, why the sm420? Is it just cause you've got it?
Great trans just kinda old school.

Basically because it has fairly low gearing, but they are easy to work on and easy to find parts for. I really wanted to go with an automatic but the wheel base is so short it just didnt make since right now. Im sure down the road when i decide to stretch it and get 1 tons, the drivetrain will change also.  :gap:

Keep the 420
A) With a good clutch they are rock solid. Autos overheat, leak fluid, start fires, slip and die.
B) The manual can be bump started, with the auto your dead in the water if the battery goes.
C) If your motor stalls, you can use the starter to get you on flat ground, with the auto ur stuck

Not a big fan of purple, but that color looks kinda cool. Don't see too many 40's that color. Are you gonna keep it that way or paint it?

thanks, actually making some changes today. we are pulling the 5.3 for now until i can afford all the extras that are needed to get it running. And putting in a good ol' carbed 350. Should have it running today, then i can focus on fininshing everything else.

i bought them used, not to sure what make they are, but im fairly sure they came from 4wheelparts.com . The beadlocks are the weld on type.
