Made a quick battery tie down out of some angle and a peice of flat today. Got it primed but not painted or installed. What can I say, im an f-ing slacker.

Got the spooled third put in today. I also put on a set of old school Doetsch-Tech Pre-runner shocks just to get me through the summer, until the winter build.

No, I removed it all to save weight. I will put lexan back in the side windows, and a roll up clear plastis window in the rear.

Currently building a cage to withstand a 200 mph crash!
.188 wall DOM main hoops with all .120 bracing, everything directley to the frame, no floor plates.
First i started by gutting Toe Jamm, and none of it will be going back

1/4 inch plate with holes to plug weld for super strong attatchment points for the cage

Computer is giving up, post more later.

When everything is all cut, notched, and tacked in place, we will remove the top to finish weld.
Dont worry, this is only the start. When finished, it will be heavily braced and ready to take on the world.

It looks like you have a good helper! My two year old came out to help me one day. He poured out a bucket of nuts and bolts and then proceded to lay them out by length and size. It was a proud moment for dad.

Sorry if i missed it, but is there a certain advantage to having the cage attached to the hoops near the rear fender wells? I have never seen anything done like that before.

The rear hoops will soon be a shock tower. The rear cage hoop will have an "X" brace in it. The two frame hoops will be tied into each other. Nothing is gonna move in a roll, promise.lol
Its hard to watch a build and see a finished product unless its your own build, but I see where your commin from. Stay tuned.

I am useing .120 wall HREW for the in-cab section of cage, to save weight and money. HREW will be pleny of strength because I still have a full factory cab wrapped around it. We are using a roll bender for the dash bar and over the windshield, to hold tight to the factory body lines.
