i want to get this done today but i have to go to a baby shower in paradise at 12 so i cant do anything to it today and i am going 4 door untimatly i an finishing this one and probably work out any bugs and then the other side will be be easier. i am going suicide doors just because there is no place to put the hinges up front without serious mods to the cab frame work and suicide will look coon when its open

got a hinge to work not exactly what i wanted to do with the hinge stick out of the body but o well it should work until i figure out a better way

the cool thing about the suicide doors and the exposed hinges is that it reminds me of an old rat rod haha.

ya my little porch light up by my door isn't cutting it anymore (neither is my carport for that matter) but i can fix the light problem. i might be able to build a little shop out back next year so i dont have to squeeze into the carport and my wife wont have to hear me when im workin on shi-stuff.

I didnt want ot do the exposed hinge but as of right now its the only thing that will work i need a hinge that doesnt pivot but one that swings away from the body as soon as you start opening the door

You could try using hood hinges

i thought about hood hinges i have some too but there not very strong and they are sloppy from side to side witch will be up and down as a door hinge. thats exactly the motion i need too but i think i have a figured out

It may sound funny but some of the newer refrigerators have "hidden" hinges that shouldn't be to hard to make work...and fridge doors are HEAVY so should support the door no problem..  or if you want something a little more automotive look at a hot rod style hidden hinge kit, and copy it lol...

I could just imagine you hooking that thing on a rock or tree and the door would never shut right again....

well i figured it out after bleakhorizon's post i started doing some looking around on minitrucks sites and looking at suicide door kits and all and couldnt find exactly how to do it so i grabed an old hood hinge i had and the motion was exactly what i needed  so i built my own hinge out of 3/8 thick flat bar and the old chevy hinge i used before  any ways im really happy with the outcome.
