well  yesterday  pulling Gittinit off a tree  i smacked my  passenger side  rear panel of my bed into a tree,  AND  almost pulled my bumper off, SOOOOOO

I don't rember ya hurting the bed? I'm gonna be glad to see that low hanging bumper go though. Tube time!!! Get that reciver mounted in there and get a good platform and I will see what I can do for a bumper if you would like.

You're not a deer Glen, no need to be scrapin' on trees. And almost pulling my front bumper was my justification for a winch bumper. And just do what I do...no rear bumper. I've got the hideous P.O.'s trailer hitch hanging soooo low and far out that if I hit that I needed to stop anyways.

beds off,  now for some  frame  and bed repairs,  and a new rear bumper

as you can see the frame has been  ripped  when pulling stumps  and stuff,  so  im going to drive 3 inch channel into the frame as far as i can  the  the bumper  will move up so that it sits on the 3 inch channel,   im also going to  put a 4 inch  channel  across  under the rear of the bed where the tailgate  mounts  for mounting a vise

it will also fix  my shackle problem  by  dumping that bumper bracket

Wow that bumper got tweaked bad! I'm glad to see ya finally got motivated.Are ya gonna fix the rust while you have the bed off?

yea,  i'll have to get my welder hooked up,  but  its gotta be done

main thing i need  is the welding rods  and some good  rust  preventing paint

i looked at walmart,  $7.97  a qt   but  i dont want it to  rust again

i didnt  remove the gas tank  for that frame repair,  its a small area  and it can wait,   i did get rustoleum   in a can  and brushed it on after  using a steel brush, scraper,  and paint thinner on a rag

cut  some 30 inch links of  3 inch channel  andthe will go into the frame  to mount the bumper to

and the reciever  hitch  will get welded  between those

channel  was painted and installed into the frame,  gotta weld it  all up  now,  more trimming on the  reciever hitch too, so it slides  between  the  3 inch channels

Its adout time you painted those sliders. How wide are those brakets? What size bolts? Those bolts don't look like a tight fit in the brackets, ya don't want that secret to rattle do you? Are you gonna fab the other half too?

brackets  are 2 inches  inside,  bolts  are  like  3/4  and  no  that one doesnt fit,  no  i dont want it to rattle  and  i dont have a bender  to bend  the  hoop    or the U
