He is done with surgery! They were able to save a third of each kidney. It sounds bad but is more than what was to be expected. We are still waiting for him to get in ICU so I will update later."

I'm sure Aaron is pretty busy so Ill update as I catch them....  :beerchug:

pulled from Bubbas website:

"Wednesday, July 15, 2009 10:06 PM, CDT
Sorry for not updating, we have been pretty busy.
We are still in the ICU but he is recovering good, they are keeping him sedated still because he is retaining fluids and not fully breathing on his own but is doing better and they will remove the breathing tube tomorrow morning. He has opened his eyes a few times and responded with head shakes to our questions.
His urine output isnt that great yet, but its getting better and the Doctors are confident that everything will kick in soon.
Dr. Davidoff came in today with good news! The biopsy results came back allready and he is still favorable histology on both sides, its so favorable in fact that he said he will not need radiation. WHOO HOO!
Thank You Lord.
Tomorrow should be a busy day. They will remove his breathing tube and get him moving around. So he is going to be really mad and in a bunch of pain, but thats what he is going to need to get the fluids moving around. right now he is retaining a bunch of fluid and his face, arms and legs are really swollen.
Keep us in your prayers.

We had a good day today. they finally took the breathing tube out and now he is breathing good on his own. his urine output is great and his creatnine level is slowly going down. The doctors are very happy with his progress so far, now we just have to wait for his bowels to kick back in."

BUDDERS

That's wonderful news!

I feel for ya Bubba, that pain medication they put you on after surgery really stops me up too.  Don't worry, things will start working better for ya .  A mild laxative ususally does the trick.

little set back today. the fluids that went out in to his body have not gone down and he is really swollen. he also has a lot of fluid and acid that is not going through his bowels, so it is coming back up his ng tube.  so they are going to give him a little bit of albumin to help pull the fluids from his soft tissue back in to his blood, and xantac for the stomach acid problems. hopefully this will make him feel better and want to move around more than he is right now.

Sunday, July 19, 2009 12:51 PM, CDT
He is doing a lot better today, they removed his ng tube and catheder. We will probably be going to the regular in patient room later on today as long as there is an open bed. But first we are going to get him in a wagon and move him around the ICU floor to see how he does.
If he keeps on healing as fast as he is now we should be out of here next week.

Monday, July 20, 2009 9:23 PM, CDT
We finally made it to our new room. We had a very productive day and even got Bubba to stand up and take a few steps. We also started to eat again, only clear fluids but its a major step forward. Tomorrow they will probably pull his drains and maybe start on solid foods. I would probably guess we will be out of here by the end of the week but we wont know till we talk to Dr. Davidoff and his team.
