How's your steering stabilizer/shock?
Where is the shimmy, bump steer, or death wobble? If it is in the steering wheel it is the tires, usually a balance/out of round issue. The other 2 are steering issuesYou cheapest route would be to have either the 30's or 33's balanced and see if that doesn't solve your problem.
I don't know if you've checked it, but wear in the steering box can cause "play" in the steering. Have someone slowly turn the steering one way then the other, while you watch the steering box. Any movement of the input shaft without immediate movement in the pitman arm will indicate this type of wear. If that looks right, continue through the steering components to find any play (drag link ball joints, tie rod ends).
I wouldn't put a dime into the stock steering if you ever wheel it Sounds kinda like you had a tire separate internally.
Here is what my front springs look like. Besides the box, this is what I think is wrong. But before I tear into this can-o-worms, what do you think?
