Just mudflap ticket he let me off on the windshield. He told me to get it fixed before getting the other one signed off. BS!

Yeah I looked in my mirror and saw him go right by while I was pulled over.  I think its like $15 fine.

well its been a while since I updated this and since I actually did something on it...

Callen found me some R&P gears, that I will be picking up tomorrow. The gears are 4.88's. The rear 3rd is already set-up with like 50 miles on them and the fronts are still New in the box with a master install kit. I am giving the guy my rear 3rd so he can still move his truck around, so I got my rear end all torn apart now.
I'm stoked to have it regeared but it sucks that I will have to take it all apart again to do the ARBs. But I can't pass up the deal on the gears, I'm saving a couple bucks.

I also hooked some rock lights under the truck and re-wired what I already had in there. I'll get some pics tonight...

Yeah they will be WAY better! I thought they were 4.10s but after looking into it more, i think they are 3.73s or maybe even 3.50.

I got the 4.88 gears in the rear end today and just took it for a test drive. WOW night and day difference! I actually have some throttle response now. 

I bought a used mass air flow sensor from a guy on TTORA, that should be here by the end of the week. That should help my power problem also. The CEL has been on since i got the truck and there are 3 codes being thrown and all could be the MAF.

Also got all the rock lights wired up.

yeah after I break the gears in and get the motor runnin better. Im going to do a fat burnout! I'll get video of the broken parts that im sure will come from it. But after years of 22re's Ive been dreamin of the day I can straight burn off 37s without the crawler on

So I went to DMV today to pay my registration and found out I need a smog. WTF?!? I didnt pay any attention to the paperwork where it said that. 

I know it won't pass the way it is. When I did the shock hoops and the GM master cylinder, I had to take out the carcoal canister to make room for everything. In CA that is one of the visual inspection items that has to be under the hood.  So this afternoon I decided it was time to make room for the Car. canister and hook it, while I was under there I cleaned up some Afro wiring I had done for my rock lights.

So after I figured out where at the wires and vacuum hoses went on the car. can. I had to make room for it. The thing is F'ing huge! basically the only place under the hood for it, is in the opposite corner of the engine bay. I had to move the rad. overflow, cruise control (yes I know Im gay for having C/C  ) and a couple sensors to make room.

I only had to extend 2 hoses (one 1/4" gas vent line and one 3/8 vacuum line off the intake manifold.)  I had to reroute some wiring also but it was pretty easy. Then I re-ran some wires for the rock lights and covered it with that plastic wiring loom crap.

Turned out pretty clean... It is diffently crowded under there though.

My new MAF sensor should be here by the end of the week and hopefully after those 2 things I won't have a check engine light anymore.  And hopefully it will pass smog next week...

Yeah it wasnt too much of a  PITA, just took sometime. I was hoping to not have to do it but I'm glad I got it done now.

Nope. just has to be there. Plus My buddy's brother owns a smog shop. So the freaker better pass!!

we dont really have any regs. i dont have smog or catalytic converters on any of my vehicles.  my crawler is street legal and i dont have any fenders or mudflaps or blinkers!  i have never been pulled over in five years!

I hate you... I have to smog my and get a mudflap ticket signed off by the end of the month.

I got the new/used MAF sensor today. I put it on and reset the computer. I took it for 45 minute test drive around town and on the freeway.  The check engine light never came back on, it usually only takes a few miles for it to come back on after reset.  I don't know how much power the bad MAF actually robbed, but it did have a high end hesitation.

The hesitation is gone and it diffently has good power. I took it pretty easy on the new gears but it will burn the 37s off easily. 
As for the 4.88 gears, I think they are almost perfect. The speedo is only 1-2 mph off acorrding to my GPS. It is just as good if not better than before with 33s and the 4.10s in the stock rear end.

Its actually fun to drive... id rater drive it than my civic. I am going to have the tires re-balanced after blowing the bead and play with the alignment/links  some more and see if I can make it steer a bit better.

I just hope it passes smog OK. I hate smog BS.

I got all the stuff for Mud-flaps today. I also took the truck out to measure for bumpstops. I did the bumpstops once but they weren't long enough, I didnt flex it out the first time. tomorrow I will finish the mud-flaps and re-do the bumpstops.  I am going to pull the code also.

I got the truck smogged today... I'm pretty happy about that! The computer was throwing a code for a bad Cat. But it still passed.... Don't ask, cuz ain't tellin!  8)
Got it all registered and my mudflap ticket signed off and paid. so now I can just drive it.

Next on the lists is ARBs and a  crawler with triple sticks...

yeah It's a relief! The tags expiried in Mar. so I didnt try it much the last couple weeks, but now I'm legit and enjoying driving it again.
