back from fordyce... trip was sweet! truck did awesome no breakage. The front locker wasn't working, so I will be looking into that. truck did good with just the rear ARB. didnt even get any new dents, I tried a few times tho. One of the poly bumpstops ripped off so it was metal on metal... :disturbed:  But I am planning on ripping the front end apart and adding airbumps, charging the coil-overs more and doing some more random welding on the housing. At the same time I am going to pull the rear end and shave the 9" and re-do the pinion angle a little bit. i didnt get many pics of my truck this weekend but whatever...

Isn't this your first Fordyce breakage free run, or did you get a clean trip out of the Blue X-cab?

I got the ox locker working on jackstands before the trip, but when I was on the trail it wasn't working. so i have to lookin to that again. Kinda lame I was hesitant on getting the ox locker, but buddies took me they worked good. now I'm kinda wishing I had gone with an ARB.

I took my black 1st gen from fordyce to meadow with no problems. but this was the first time in a couple trips without breaking. I think its also the first time I've ran the whole trail in one trip. Friday we went to meadow, Well within 10 minutes, then sat. we went from fordyce to eagle lakes. I would have liked to come up the trail but they were having a workday to re-route the trail, so we wanted to miss that. but all in all good trip with 1 working locker. front locker would have been nice.

I couldn't remember if you had had a successful trip, I just remember the last one when the ARB bolts sheared and you made the comment how the trail hates you.

Did Pat have any troubles?

Appariently Fordyce just hated my last truck.

The 4 runner did alright. Somehow the welded rear end broke but still worked (just open) and didnt even make any noise.  :dunno: It had some idling issues also but he seemed to fix those after some F-ing around.

I got the front ox locker working today. I adjusted it a little bit more then tried it under power and shifted it on the fly at it worked fine numberous times. hopefully its good now.   :crossed:

I also unbolted the front axle so I can do some welding on it in the next few days.  PLans are to mount airbumps, make new landing pads for the airbumps and weld the axle tubes to the center section. While I have the coilovers off I am going to have them charged some more.

Hopefully I can get my crawl box by this weekend so I can convert the forward shift to top shift and start putting the duals together.  :yesnod:

I might need a hand actually. thanks. that axle is a pregnant dog to move around by myself...

-Matt-

ya dude i can only imagine with all that weight on there. its already a big enough pregnant dog moving mine around let alone there not fully done or under a truck yet

88Rokyoat

Going to Corning in the morning to pick up a 37" spare for $10. found it on craigslist, I guess it is pretty low on tread but holds air but i dont really care for 10 bucks. Im going to have to make a swing out tire carrier now, i have all the parts already for the swing out.

I got pretty much all the welding done I wanted to on the axle today. Even in the wind...
got the axle tubes all welded up and built some landing pads for the bumpstops. I used 2x2 .188 wall sq tube and a 3x3 1/4" plate. they should be plenty strong. Also welded the bumpstop cans to the frame.

the axle is back under the truck but i would like to charge the coilovers a bit more before it is ready for its own weight. I should be able to get it back on all fours pretty soon.
here are some pics of what I got done...
