well i got an 85 4 runner. i am not acctually going to get to touch it untill the 8th or 9th of feb but i am starting planing now. it is bone stock except for the 4.70 kit and the rock sliders. he is giving me a new set of allpro 4" ft springs and 2 sets of 63" chevys. i am going to paint it OD green with WWII insignia slightly modified. her name will be wheely to go with the willys theme i am going with. i will build my own ft and rear bumpers. for now it will be a dd but in a few years it will be trail only and it will have a small block in it.

well i got her out and i love that 4.7 set i have some good pics BUT the thing says my pics are to big. i still stuck tring to figure out what i am going to do with the drive train. now the question is what gears should i run if i want to run 33s for now. also with 4" of lift will it clear 33s with VERY little to no rubbing (12.5 wide) and what off set do i need to run them?

33's will clear with no rubbing on a 4" lift.  i had the same setup on an 86 runner and never rubbed at all. i had 33x12.50x15 BFG mud terrains on 15x10 wheels with the normal 4.5" backspacing. as far as gears, 4:88's would work fine but if you plan on ever going with bigger tires you might as well install 5:29's the first time around.

thanks. but i have decided to sand the entire runner down again and repaint. my good friend owns a VERY nice custom body shop and a little while back he restored a military jeep and has a fair amount of OD green and flat clear that i can just pick up. so hopefuly by the end of the month i will have the paint totaly complete with emblems.

very simple but it will definately take a hit better than the stock one!  you need to weld some rings onto it to hold shackles, so you can pull jeeps out!
