Damn Ryan suck about the rails glade to hear you are getting it fixed. Taping the box go good (taping the box lol  :shake:)? I was intimidated to drill and tap mine until i got into it, it was cake. Did you get the ram mounted yet?

:welcome:  TheReal4Mogger your runner is sweet, I have gone through your build several time, good stuff. LOL 1 post in 3 years. Hey is the runner ready to wheel ?

Ram is getting mounted once i get the tcase back in. Tapping the box was cake, the vein scarred me a bit. I was drilling for a while throught that thick cast part and I was paranoid about going to far and messing it up. That fitting only got about 3-4 threads becaus ehte tap would not go in any farther.

BTW ill give you the tap back soon.

4mogger is doing a shake down run this weekend in the same area as the jambo-- St. elmo alpine loop area

I borrowed a tap from my uncle that he had ground down the end of it to make it shorter.  I was then able to tap the entire thing.  It might be worth buying a tap to ground down to make sure you get more than 3-4 threads.

Thought I would bump this for my own question....

I have just finished hooking everything up and i am in the process of bleeding everything. I seem to either not know what i am doing or i just dont know what i am doing

info on set up--4.3l, saginaw pump, toy ifs box, 6" stroke ram

When the truck is in the air the ram will not move until i go all the way to lock, this is turning either direction.

With tires on the ground the ram moves immediately but the rest of the steering will not move until the ram has maxed out its stroke.

I have been going back and forth with the steering wheel both engine running and not, also tires in the air and on the ground. I have continuously bleed the box and air comes out on the occasion.

Does any of this sound familiar to when any of you bleed your box? Sny better tips on getting this working properly? (or whatever normal is if you care to explain)

i got 4 threads in btw

I'm guessing 40-50 over the weekend.  We had a good showing last year, I'm guessing 40 rigs.  This year should be bigger.

For those people running Holy Cross on Friday, let's shoot for meeting at the HC trailhead at 9am to get an early start. I will leave the Fourmile campground area @ 7am to get to the access road to drop the truck/trailer off at 8:30. That way we will have 30 minutes to get up to the Holy Cross trailhead.

If you are trailering your rig to Holy Cross, we only drive down the road a mile or 2 and unload.  The road is usually rough and there's plenty of spots to park the trucks/trailers lower on the road.  I'd suggest being there @ 8:30 to unload and get your trail rig ready to run.  I'll be driving a  maroon 04 Dodge CTD with a 20' Big Tex flatbed.

I am getting pretty psyched about this jamboree...  :willynilly:  I don't think anything else could make me want to get my own Toyota any more than this. Is it a "4Runners only" deal, or are trucks welcome? I've seen more trucks for sale than 4runners 'round these parts.

It's a Toyota event.  Years and years ago, it was mostly 3rd gen 4Runners from the 4x4wire and Yotatech boards.  Back in '04, it was split between old and new, trucks and 4Runners.  Last year, it was split.  Nice bunch of Toyota's though!!

I figured that; I was wondering if you'd cut my tires or run me off for showing up in a truck is all and it opens up more options for finding my own pile. Has anyone done a truck to runner build? Like cut out the rear wall and make some sort of flexible topper for the bed? Like a DIY Runner or something?

I promise I'm cooler in person  8)

There's no really set schedule of trails for the weekend.  Most of the people show up Friday night.  People chat it up and figure out who's running what and that's what is ran for the next day.  I know that I'm running BV Carnage on Saturday.  It's pretty intense.  Took us 6 hours to get 6 rigs though a 0.9 mile trail.  What kind of rig are you running Toytank?  There is usually a group that runs Chinamans on Saturday morning and probably a group running Iron Chest / Grizzly Lake.

If everything goes well on Carnage during the day, I'd like to get a Chinamans night run in Sat. night.
