Don't know if you guys heard what happened but one of the trucks driveline blew apart and killed a kid and injured an adult in the stands. Evidently the kid lost half his scull and they are keeping quiet about the other one. Was anyone there and saw this, sounds pretty bad for the series.

A friend of mine was at the next day's show with his two boys.  It made him think about things a bit.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

very sad, I remember being a kid and wanting to go to a monster truck show, that sucks. It would be hard to loose your son, especially that way.

Anybody hear that another dude died at another monster truck show this weekend?  I didn't catch where it was or exactly what happened, but they just had a quick blurb about it on the news tonight.

:yikes:   OMG I just saw this on the news!!!!  They showed the clip, the dude walked RIGHT out in front of the monster truck and got run down, and I mean he was standing dead center with the tire of the monster truck when they stopped the clip.  :ack:   He was just bee-boppin along, looking the other way, and surely there was no way for the driver to have seen him, the tire was taller than the dude was, of course.

Wowww.  Very sad.  :headshake:
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

Here's one news thing I found on it:

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gIDYmzSgjWCSJqnGyeUzktyhrKxgD95UT3O00

.........George Eisenhart Jr. suffered severe internal injuries when he was hit by the huge truck Saturday at the Motor Sports Monster Truck & Thrill Show at the Dane County Coliseum, the coroner said. The show was immediately halted.

...........Eisenhart, 41, of Chardon, Ohio, was owner and president of Ohio-based Image Productions, which has been staging monster truck shows across the nation for more than 15 years.

........Eisenhart had spoken proudly of the show's safety record the day before the accident, telling WKOW in Madison: "This is our 16th year, and I wish I had a big piece of wood to knock on right now, but we have not had an incident besides a gal slipping in the aisle at another location."
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

Oh definitely man....they said the driver has been driving monster trucks for 20+ years and he's taking it pretty hard.  They're just there to show people a good time, you never expect anything like these to happen.  :(

The announcers usually have a mic and clipboard or note pad in hand while making their announcements. It kinda looks like he was looking at his clipboard or maybe some notes of what he was going to say as he walked out of the tunnel.  The truck was close enough to the arena wall that he didn't have to walk far (just a few feet) from the tunnel before being in front of the truck. The truck looked like it was maybe 20' from the tunnel opening when he walked out. Those guys are typically wearing hearing protection of some type also so there's a good chance he didn't hear him coming either.  :headscratch:

I'll guess that even if the driver were looking at the tunnel he still couldn't have seen him from that distance.  The announcer guy probably walked out not realizing that there was another truck coming since one had just passed the tunnel opening right before he walked out. Honest mistake?  :dunno:  That's what I'm thinking.

Still sucks though.
