You'll gain over an inch and give it a flat surface to slide over rocks instead of digging in....

Here ya go.  they will probly show up as red x's, but if you click on the box you can see em.

I'm making a bit of progress on the front 3 link.  i am moching up the lower links and seeing how things are gonna fit.  right now i have the links set at 34" long for the lowers.  The front axle is in position and setup at full bump.  I actually tacked a piece of scrap steel from the frame to the axle on each side to hold it in place.  i moved the axle forward about 2 more inches from where it was.  Tonight I cut about an inch and a half off the bottom of the framerails on each side so the lowers can tuck up close and hopefully the frame mounts wont be hanging down too far.

here you can see that i cut a piece about 1.5" x 12" off the bottom of the frame to make room for the links to fit up higher

Nice!  Keeping the lowers fairly flat will make placement of the upper links much easier in respect to anti-dive!  Just curious what stopped you from simply out-boarding the links?  The wider the link attachment the lower the roll center.

I thought about outboarding them, but it would have ended up too wide.  my tires would have hit the links before i could even get to full steering lock.

Gotcha......the pics look like you have gobs of room.  On mine that was an issue as well.....they went the only place I could put them and then you just have to figure out your options for the upper links that will get a close as you can to you desired roll center and AD goals.  Very cool Caleb.....it's gonna be a goat!

yeah i thought i had plenty of room too, but turns out i dont!  those 80 series turn sharper than the mini trucks too i think.   I havnt done any link calculations to find out all the roll center and anti-dive and such.  jason pauly gave me a few guidlines and basically told me to build it where it fits!

I would like to paint it that color or the orange color.  that will be a ways down the road though.  Paint is my very least concern right now!

yep, came out of a non e-locker 80 series landcruiser.  about 8" wider than the stock mini truck solid axle.  High pinion front diff. Rear axle is all beef with a 9.5 ring gear, full float axles and big disk brakes!

thats not really on the agenda.  it runs great and has plenty of power right now.  i dont even have money to install gears and lockers and longfields in my axles..... building the engine is waay out of sight!

I'm so jealous! Mine is so close and I'm just slammed right now.  Obviously, my latest morph went to0 long.  Honey-do list is building pretty fast too.  If I only didn't have to work.....
