got the shock tabs welded on tonight at work. i should have the shocks installed tomorrow so i can get some more pics of how they look finished!

just got the shocks put on and they look pretty good. i didnt have a chance to go somewhere and flex it out yet but i will soon.

no i have not had a chance to flex it yet. i know an area i can go to flex it on a loading dock. i think i will do that tomorrow or sunday. i really want to get it out on some trails but i have to work all weekend. memorial day weekend is always a good time for our club though. lots of us get together to go wheelin all weekend. i will get to try out my beadlocks and suspension then! i really need to get onboard air now!

I just looked over the whole build looks good. I'm digging the rolled tube on the back half it looks really good i wanted to do that but i'm not sure of anyone around here that has a roller.

As far as the inboarded sprigns go my friend ran them but he went to far in towards the third and it had some problems striping out the nuts on the u bolts, other then that they work awesome from what I have seen.

Do you know how long the explorer springs are?

u can get a cheap tube roller from harbor freight, there is a writeup on pirate about it.

thanks! yeah i havnt really had a chance to wheel yet but i do know that they will perform much better. when i just got the frame finished and flexed it out on the snow, it flexed really well even with hardly any weight on the back. we are planning on going out wheelin may 16th and then again on memorial day weekend. should have some good pics and more info for you guys!

thanks! i am really liking the rolled tube also. it will look even better when i get some skins on it! currently i am working on the spare tire mount. i should have that done friday. as far as u bolts goes i havnt had any problems. i only went in three inches on each side so the u bolts are still riding on the same shape of axle tube. the explorer springs measure about 57 inches eye to eye and the centerpin is at 26 inches.

so there basically the same as s10s or mazda springs then. Your u bolts should be fine then I think his wasnt so much that it was wasnt sitting normall it was the leverage the axle had on them without the spring moving at an angle it would just pull threads.

That will look sweet with skins for sure.

thanks a bunch guys. next plans are to build my toolbox/storage in the back and get some skins made for the area between the rolled fender tubes and the rear halo. oh and i really need to get my flange for the gas tank filler made so i can extend the tube and make it easier to fill up!

I can imagine! And damn you'll have to send me a picture of it, What year is it? And nope, Ive kind of given up looking till i save up some money. Im thinking if i dont save up some cash that ill just get a nearly stock yota, maybe small lift, 33's or something and just build it myself...I feel like thats probably the safer way too, so i know exactly whats done and when it was done, plus it would be a hell of a fun learning experience for me and it'd be sweet to say yeah i built my truck...lol.Plus I cant imagine anyone with a really nicely built rig wanting to trade me straight across anyways.

yeah there is not very many girls out there that can point to their crawler and say "yeah i built that myself"! i have seen a few girls willing to work on them a little bit, but not build their own. and the worst part of it is that the only girls i know or have seen work on a truck are NEVER attractive! lol you on the other hand, i think is a different story.

We'll see though, I found a truck I REALLLY want and its like 30 minutes away and their asking 4500 right now...I think im going to see if theyd wanna work something out..Maybe give me like a week to sell my car and then let me make payments to them or something...I doubt they would, lol, but we'll see.
