half door question

so i went to start making my half doors the other day and before i start cutting anythign i have a question for you guys that have made half doors before.

do you guys usually make your cut parralell to the window sill or parralell to the bottom of the door? ive never noticed it before but the door gets taller torward the rear and didnt know what would look better.

so feel free to chime in give your 2 cents

i cut mine parrallel to the bottom of the door.

When I did mine I made the cut parallel to the body line stamped into the door which I think is parallel to the bottom. I noticed the slope too, but wanted it to line up with what was close to the cut to be made.

Parallel to the body line is how I made a set a few years ago.
'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.
'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

from that i made a template for the sheet


fully welded one tack at a time




test fit and door handle


After that it got some filler to smooth the edges, sealed then painted
