So, my kids get off the bus the other day.  And after they get their homework done, they start talking about this guy they saw on the corner over by the high school.  Well, my ears perked up and really started listening to what was being said.  You know how kids get wild imaginations and story telling.  Well, I ask more details about this guy, and come to find out, my fifth and second grade sons know where to score drugs!!!  WTF???  So, they tell me about this homeless looking guy who stands just off the campus and sells drugs to the high school kids and then gets on the bus and sells them to the younger ones!   :yikes:  So, we call the bus driver and she confirms the story!!  And she proceeds to tell us that she's told that since it's not on school property, there's nothing she can do!!  But they don't let the kids that have been over visiting him on the bus without being checked out!

I'm immediately am outraged at this point!  I'm furious!  I'm about to get my gun and hunt this Mother Fing guy down!   :maddest:  So, I first grab a beer and think this through!  So, I get on the phone and start calling my buddy who is the local school police liaison.  And he didn't know about this guy either.  So, he's checking in on it, including talking to the bus drivers.  I then call my other friend Jana, who just happens to be on the drug enforcement task force, she knew nothing about it, and is checking in on it, too!!  And then we call the Principal at the High school and he knew nothing about it!  WHAT THE HELL!!!   My kids know all about this and nobody else does???

I think I'm gonna start visiting some PTA meetings just to spread the word!!  How f-ing brazen do you have to be to sell drugs right in front of a school??  I'm gonna write a letter to the local paper to help get the word out!  I don't know what else to do.  It's easy when you don't have kids, but when you have kids and you are supposed to trust the local school and bus system to keep your kids safe, it's gets frustrating as hell.

I trust my oldest that he won't think twice about drugs, but my youngest son has a tendency to have a addictive personality, and a daredevil attitude.  And if one of our kids that would get in trouble, would be him!

I hope they bust the :pokinit: out of this guy!  If I catch him, I don't know what I'll do!!! :dunno:

you definently have good reason to be pissed... i'd feel the same way.

Sure seem's odd that no one knew this was going on though.

That bus driver could lose his/her job for not speaking up on illegal matters such as this. Reguardless of it being on or off school grounds that's not the point..
The point is there's some dipshit down the street selling drugs to KIDS!!

Thankfully you are a concerned parent and are following through to make sure this guy get's caught.

that is bull crap. If the kids know, and they are that young, then a teacher or someone should have noticed it also. And if the bus driver asked about it and was told to forget it, that is bull...plain and simple.

I hope something gets done and the higher up wake up a bit.

Hopefully they look into the bus driver's background a little more.  I'm guessing since he gets on the bus, its not a school bus?  If it is, he's got no business getting on there anyway, and thats total :bull crap: that she can't do anything about it, because if its a school bus, its school district property, and thusly is under all the rules and laws that apply to a school.  (Reason you can still get suspended for fighting on a bus.)

If its a city bus, then you may want to contact the transportation authority for the city.  I'm sure they'd be very interested to know why a person who is known to sell drugs is being allowed to have free reign on a city bus.

The dealer does not get on the bus.  He's older from what I'm told.  And the bus is the regular yellow school bus.

Ah, I was confused, because it sounded like you said that he sold to the older kids, and then got on the bus and sold to the younger kids.  So the older kids are selling to the younger kids?  that is still obvious school issue, and the school bus driver most certainly has responsibility for that.

he would never do time. jury would acquit him due to circumstances.

The bus driver that knew about it is probably a customer too and probably gets their stuff cheaper by keeping quiet about it.

I feel for ya man but without sounding insulting the whole state of Oregon is so liberal, especially when it comes to drugs that I doubt you'll be able to get much done about it.

Here in the cowtowns in Missouri we got holes waiting in the woods to put these people in. :bat:

I don't blame you for being furious -- I would be, as would any responsible parent!

You have already notified at least two friends who are in positions to begin dealing with this, and you have said they are looking into it.  Your idea of bringing it up in a PTA meeting is excellent.  Get the word out as quickly as possible to as many people as you can.  Definitely involve the police.

If work schedules allow, some Dads could hang out around the bus stop and, uh, observe the guy for several days.  Video cams could be a good thing to use also. He might get discouraged.  Resist the urge to take the guy out, as tempting as it would be, 'cause it would lead to legal problems for those involved.

Of course, if a group of Moms went at him with umbrellas and 'heavy' purses....    :dunno:

I call  :bull crap: on the driver, just doesn't want to get involved. If I were you I'd report the driver to the school board and threaten them with a lawsuit. The district is responsible for the care of your child from the time they pick them up until the time they deliver them back. It does not matter where the problem occurs on or off campus.

When I used to manage a restaurant, I had an incident in the restaurant with kids on their way home from school. There was a fight outside that threatened to spill inside, I had the principal and the school police in my restaurant within minutes due to the schools responsibility for anything that was to occur including any property damage to my store.

It's a sad world these days and it's not getting better over time.

:psss: If you're going to shoot someone, your statement above isn't the best defense.  I would think that statements like, "I was about to get my gun so I grabbed a beer so I could think more clearly," might be a bad idea since the following is a common phrase is often used, but rarely in combination with a good decision, "Hold my beer and watch this!"

I think you're handling it well.

So, I'm thinking a 30-06 with a good scope and about 200-250 yards. He'd be dead and on his way to the ground before the sound even crossed his ears. Wouldn't even know what hit him. Would save the local and state police a bunch of money having to prosecute him and keep him behind bars with 3 hots and a cot. One well placed round would solve lots of issues. I'd be surprised if anyone really even noticed.

Then again, calling the cops to write a report after all the damage was done is probably the "right" way to handle this.
