We are moving our entire website to a new faster, more stable server!   We will have to shut everything down either Wednesday or Thursday, so expect a couple hours of downtime during the move! Thanks! BigMike

this thread is just to encourage guests to create an account so they will be included on an email to all members when the site is back up after the migration.

Mike can send out a board wide email stating that it's back up and running... Might just recommend that Rather than sifting through everyone to find specific folks.  Just a thought Plus, I don't get email notifications for PM's so it wouldn't do any good to PM me regarding the update LOL!!

  Jeff,  don't you think if BigMike wanted to do this he would have started the thread himself??  not to mention the fact he has every members email and would send a notification if it was necessary which its not because  the URL will be the same

Doesn't BigMike have the ability to email everyone that has an email listed in their profile?  I know Glen sends mass (not the entire board membership) emails from time to time.

The forum itself has a newsletter feature where I can send a letter to every registered member with one mouse click.

But this won't be necessary.

I expect less than 4 hours of downtime because the same machine where our current nameserver is stored will be used again with our updated nameserver. That means the update will be broadcasted across the internet in a very short time interval. Only some remote corners of the internet will take maybe 5 or 6 hours to get their namecache updated.

At this time I do not know what time of day the transfer will be made. But it shouldn't take too long at all.

The forum will be put into Maintenance Mode during the transfer to ensure no content is lost during the process.
