I just put in the 1200lb non ceramic in my truck when I did the 5 speed swap, I haven't driven it too much yet but so far it is great, light peddle and grabs really good, I wish I got the 1600lb one now......

ceramic bad?
for a truck you drive on the road, i feel the ceramic is BAD BAD BAD, its either on or off, it will NOT slip at ALL,  so  you will be  killing the truck at redlights  or spinning,  more than likely a little of both
if you was good road manners  get the NON ceramic 1200

STIFF, but not  too stiff

teh ceramic sounds kinda like how my ranger is, very very little slip to it. kidna fun though, and a littel more challenging...so what are the advantages of a cermaic clutch tehn?

i like stiffer clutches myself... :dunno:

the 1600 has a good stiff pedal and grabs way better than stock, i just put one in 2600 miles ago when i rebuilt my engine

some advantages would be- they need less surface area to create the same amount of grabbing force as an organic clutch, which in turn means it weighs less.  -ceramic clutches do not slip like an organic clutch when they get hot which also means your flywheel will last longer.

and also just because it is a ceramic clutch does not mean it is "stiffer", it's just that they usually engage instantly instead of slipping as you let out the pedal, which could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the terrain.  the stiffness in pedal feel will not come from the material of the clutch but rather the pound rating of the clutch fingers.

1600 is what i have, it feels firmer than stock, but its a good thing, gives more input. i have never felt it slip and it does grab hard too

Is the 1600 just stiffer and grabby-er than the 1200? Which is better?

it means is that it has a higher clamping force

i run a 1600 and couldn't be happier
