Lady Di

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Inlet, NY, aka BFE.
I have a group of friends I know from an AutoCAD forum, we have been friends now for probably 4-5 years.
The guy that lives in Long Island, NY has a 5 bedroom house on a lake in Inlet. The only way to get to the house is by boat. 6 of us in the group, and one of the gals husband will all be gathering there this weekend.
I fly up to Syracuse with my co-worker, also in the group. We will meet his girlfriend from Chicago there and drive to Inlet where the NY guy will meet us with the boat to take us to the house.
The gal and her husband are coming from Alberta, Canada and another gal from SC is already up there.

Here a google map of where we are going:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=inlet,+ny&ie=UTF8&ll=43.746111,-74.771576&spn=0.038629,0.072012&t=h&z=14

The house is on the penesula (mispelled on purpose or the censor censors it to: thingysula LOL) on the NE side of Sixth Lake. This is going to be so much fun :hyper: I will return Sun. with lots of pictures. :woohoo:  :drunk: :camping: :boozer: :woohoo:

Sounds like the perfect setting for an old fashioned murder mystery!  :yikes:  Enjoy, but keep an eye out for secret passages.

What would it look like...to have "a woman spending the weekend on a penin jutting proudly into the moistness of the lake" in print? This is a family show!

I'll bet that gets cut!

We're in Syracuse :hyper:
The flight was delayed for a little while, but not as long as they first alerted us to.
The flight was good, they had individual TV's in the back of each seat and all the cable channels, it rocked. I watched Law and Orders the whole way up. LOL
We were in the very last row and figured we'd be waiting a half hour for all the yahoo's to get off the plane, but they brought up stairs to the back door so we were offloaded from the front AND rear and we got to walk down the stairs to the tarmac! I have always wanted to do that.
What a hoot!
AND both our bags were almost the first out of the chute in baggage claim.
We're relaxing with a couple drinks now, the hotel has free wifi and M*A*S*H is on TV, life is good! :drunk:

Jet Blue.
The flight attendent said the jet was only a couple months old. It was nice. I loved being able to watch whatever I want.

OK.. here goes... we spent the first night in a hotel in Syracuse cause Bill and his GF Juliana wanted to have one night alone :eyebrow: , she lives in Chicago so they only get to see each other every few months.
Here's the lovebirds at the hotel...

They next day we drove up to Inlet, it was about a 3 hour drive but it was very scenic. Here's a bridge for Glen:

We finally get there and our host, Cliffy, is awaiting us with the boat to take us across the lake. (that's him under the wing of the plane)

The house is straight across the lake on the PENINSULA

You can just see the slide on the dock in the distance here.

The house in the woods

The house was built in 1917 and the windows have the original glass, it's all wavy looking. It was a really cool place.

Here's some more pics of the area:

I love this one...

Playing a rousing game of scrabble:

I got in the lake too, but Juliana and Cliffy have the pictures of me.

Some pics from inside the house:

The living room

A warning to others

The bathroom is that-a-way... which, BTW, was the only place there was running water, there were no faucets in the kitchen we had to fill a big copper tub with water and heat it on the stove to wash dishes and such, very rustic!

You can see the sink behind Juliana here

The view from the dock

The first night there Cliffy took us all out to dinner.
That's Paul from Calgary and his wife Janet...

Enjoying a tall frosty one..
