Topic: Strange noise from drivetrain?

Help! I have this pinging sound on acceleration in 1st. and 2nd. It sounds like somebody is tapping my driveshaft with a ball peen hammer. ting, ting and then it drives normally. Does anyone have an idea what this may be? 81 pickup, 4inch lift, 33inch tires.

U-joints.

Turns out both u joints are okay. My transfer case outputs front and rear are wobbly. Took off the rear drive shaft and 1/4 cup of fluid poured out of the transfer case .

Before you put the flange back on the t-case put some RTV on the splines of the flange.

I think this might be a good excuse to order a new t case from marlin with 4.7 gears. What do you think?
