Wait till after you put the dual cases in to do your d-shaft.  That way you will only have to rework your d-shaft once.  If you don't want vibes, put in a CV at the T-Case end.

Yes you can.

I've got an 84 4Runner dual cased with factory perches on the rear axle, and it still rides fine going 70 on the freeway with my CV rear shaft that looks like it's been to Hell and back.

On my 87 4Runner with 5" Marlin rears and factory perches and stock driveshaft (very similar to your setup), it still goes down the freeway at 70 smooth as butter.  If the driveshaft was perfectly fine before, I don't see why you're getting weird vibes.

Do you think it could be tire related?

I think we screwed up putting on those new perches...should have just used factory perches and went from there...stupid. No i dont think its tire related be cause it that tight feel at low speeds if ya konw what i mean. I think the problem is the slip yoke right off the trans not grabbing enough spline, to stretched out.....this is really anoying and i dont have much money to get a shaft stretched :help:

Try to find a driveshaft from ashort bed automatic. It's just long enough. I know cause that's what I have in mine. I have wheeled it at the Con & has never slipped out. Measure how long it has to be first.

Well I went to Fresno driveline service today after work figured out what im gonna do....im gonna take my cv joint from my front ifs shaft and put it on the front of the rear then flip the rear to have the slip at the rear of the shaft then they are gonna modify my cv to get for angle out of it or something...hope that made sense..they said it would cost about 150 bucks....then about 62 bucks to shorten it when i get my duels setup.

That came out sweet!! Those pics are pretty awesome!! Good flex. Would definetly like to find a runner and do that... makes a good family crawler. I like the first gen runners... esp with SA. Keep up the good work. Lemme know if u need little things. I always seem to run across extras and spares.
1st gen yota truck. 37x12.5x15. 5spd dual cases, chevy springs in rear, toyota rears springs in front. Long bed....the list never ends..
Dont try to shift into 6th when u've only got a 5spd! Rubberside down doesnt always mean rite side up!

You know OEM Toyota joints are similar in strength to one-tons? You should NOT be breaking driveshafts with your set up...especially a brand new one

Dunno that looks pretty close on the shocks....

I had to move mine in some because they were (close to) bottoming out after the springs settled......they settled a lot more than I thought they would..

Guess you'll just have to wait until the springs settle and find out...

How much shock rod are you showing? I think it should be around 4 to 5 inches....

You need about 6 "
That would make 6 inches uptravel and 6 inches down..... Most set ups have a little more downtravel than up (Mine is probably about  5 up and 7 down...you definitely dont want to hang the weight of the axle on the shock (but at the same time dont want to bottom out the shock)
