Poll added.

We were talking today about how we will run the events.

We could have set schedules where people will register for each event and will show up during the event to participate. Like say the Turtle Crawl event is from 12-3pm and the Tire Bowling is from 3-5pm, etcetera.

Or we could just have 5-10 events running the whole day and you just waltz up and enter into the event.

Of course it is much more convenient to have the events running throughout the afternoon, but it will require people to manage each event.

So if we only have a small team for these events, then we will be forced to schedule them out. But if we can find volunteers, then we could have the events going for most of the day!

Will there be different classes in the turtle crawl? Say those with dual 2.28's and those with an ultimate and then the triple's class.  Would this be feasible?  :dunno:

Yes Sir.

I plan to have a class for single 4.70, dual stock, dual ultimate, and triple or dual overkill in both Auto and Manual trucks (assume those apply) so to cover all the possible setups.

So like we will have, but not limited to,
Manual transmission class:
-single 4.70 case
-dual stock cases
-dual ultimate
-dual ultimate overkill
-triple (if it applies, this might be like the "king of the crawl" class or something. Maybe some one will beat Marlin's truck )

Automatic class
-single 4.70 case
-dual case
-dual ultimate cases (probably won't be anything lower than this, but if not we'll run them against the triple cased 5spd guys)

If there are enough ToyBoxed Landcruisers, then we'll form a class for them too!

Of course this will "largely" apply to Toyota setups. There are bound to be some Atlas setups, SM420 crazy 1st gear setups, Turbo hydromatics, etc, so we'll have to improvise with a sub-class for these guys, or tell them to go get a :turtle: :tease:

I am not planning on considering axle gearing, short of portals or any other non-Toyota setup. If you've got 4.88s and you barley loose to a guy with 5.29s, then I suggest you turn your idle down (if you can) and run the course again

Man, that sounds like fun!  :hyper: I can't wait to see the course.  Now that I know I wouldn't have to compete against rigs with more money in them I'll reconsider!  :gap:

Thanks Big Mike!  :beerchug:

Yup, that's the idea, apples vs. apples. If there are enough stock single case 2.28:1 trucks out there, we'll set up a class for "all-stock" trucks too

We've been discussing a time format for everything but have not come to a conclusion yet.

I think we should start at 12pm and continue until dinner time ~ 4:30pm.

All of the events will be ran simultaneously. Most events can be entered multiple times to improve your score and better your chance of being the champion at the end of the day, but as for the horseshoe contest, it will be up to CJ, who is running it, how he wants to run it.

So for instance, the Turtle Crawl event will cost $1 to enter. $1 will give you 1 run on the course. After you finish it, we will have a large white board with the best (slowest) times for each class (stock, single case, dual case, ultimate, stick, auto, etc). After finishing the course, if you think you can get an even slower time, then put in another $1 and run it again until you are satisfied with your results.

Times will be posted in advance, so please keep updated with this thread.

I will be going up early to set things up, so I can't say as to where each event will be held. Therefore we will have a list of events at the registration counter at the springs campground meadow to the left of the main stage.

Can't wait!! :hyper:

Sounds like a blast! I want to enter the Turtle Crawl competition if we get into the Springs on time. Hopefully there won't be a lot of carnage spread all over the trail and everyone makes it on time!

Well, of course the idea of a Turtle Crawl is to promote the Marlin Crawler product. Hence "Turtle" (Marlin Crawler logo) and "Crawl" (a Marlin Crawler invented household term)

But I understand there might be a Unimog or a SM420 into a klune V or some sort, so I will have an "Outcasts" group (or some other demeaning term ) for those who don't fit in
