MCR7 Suggestions
« on: Apr 17, 2008, 07:35:23 AM »
I see that you might be having some RC competitions, does anybody have any other suggestions on how to make MCR better?

A couple that I have from attending the past few:

1. Have something going on in main camp on Saturday.  Many of us get to the springs on Friday, so having something going on Saturday would be cool.  I was thinking along the line of some competitions, like seating a tire, changing a birfield something like that.  Maybe a vehicle show where the people who think they have the most capable vehicle can show their rigs and then people can vote on each one and Marlin can give a plaque to the winner.

2. At the raffle their should be some prizes that are drawn from the participant list (one entry per person - everyone has the same chance of winning) and then a separate raffle for those that buy raffle tickets (more tickets you buy the better your chance of winning is).

3. A little show where Marlin and the other sponsors can show off some of their latest products.

These are some of my thoughts that I think could make it a little more fun, not that I won't have plenty of fun already.

You can pretty much count Marlin (the man himself) out of any events.
He spends most of his day helping out wheelers do trail repairs and barely makes it in time for the dinner! :therethere:

I am in charge of events this year.

Currently we have some big things going on here that need to get finished before I really dive in 100% on event planning.

Suggestions are always welcomed, and I can assure you, the structure of this years Round Up will be much different than any other.

More info to come in May/June.

Please keep the suggestions coming guys!!

Regards,
BigMike

Half the folks don't even get there till Saturday afternoon - IF they even make it (*cough INFERNAL cough*).

I think thats his point.  Sure, a lot of people don't roll into the springs until sat afternoon/evening (or later)  but a lot of people are there all day.  All of the current activities are centered around the evening, so there really isn't much for the folks there during the day to do.  Wheeling is kind of hard, because everyone is trying to get into the springs.

Blackdog hit it right on the head.  Sure some don't get there until everything is over, but there are plenty that are there on Friday.  Something organized going on in main camp could be fun.
