Thank you for the reminder, just had Christine leave a message with them. We'll try again tomorrow-

i hate to hound you, just trying to figure out how much i should set aside for mcr this year and wanting to know if i should bring dough for the heli or not.
thanks

downpour11

I would think the heli is not going to be there this year since it crashed a couple weeks ago, unless they have a different one coming.

Ok, did some searching and came across this: http://www.sacbee.com/2014/08/01/6599384/injuries-reported-in-helicopter.html According to the Sacramento Bee,

The Helicopter we hire is not from Heli-Flite and also does not fly an AS350D, or at least they have never flown that type at our event.

AS350D on left, the one that works our event on the right:

I don't know anything about helicopter models, just did a random Google Image search. Image sources are as follows:
"AS350D": http://www.applebeeaviation.com/fleet/aircraft/
The one used at our event: https://www.marlincrawler.com/gallery/2012/sep/2012-marlin-crawler-round#/28

Again, regardless, I'm glad those people are okay. I'll be calling our guy on Monday for verification if he can make our event or not.

Regards,
BigMike

Hmm, gonna have to say your wrong about the heli crashing being the one mcr uses. Just a funny thought i had. Not bein a richard, just cant stand people talking about what they arent fully informed on

helipilot77

Take the cash for the helicopter. It will most likely be there this year. Only reason it wasn't there last year is because it's 100 hour inspection happened to line up with MCR.

Ok. Just been trying to get confirmation as mike said something about it being iffy on weather he was gonna make it or not. Something about him needing to keep the heli up there in order to make it i think?

megaphoneman

Big mike? Can you get me in contact with the pilot?  Also what weather station or location do you use for best idea for weather up there

No worries man, I had heard from a couple people that he was working the jeep jamboree and he said he would be leaving the chopper at the pad until the round up.  Maybe I'm misinformed.  Carry on.

No news on the helicopter yet, Mrs. Crawler has been calling and leaving messages. We will call them again today. They already know our event is this weekend and already wrote it down on their calendar. We just haven't received any official confirmation, only something along the lines of, "oh sure, we have that weekend open, let me put it on my calendar."

Will try to keep this updated and see everyone later this week!!!

Why don't you come in on loon side and wheel to the springs rob?

Because I'm going in Wednesday night with my buddy Ryan and we are helping the kitchen crew bring in supplies Thursday from Tahoe side.  Also I've been abusing the hell out of the runner with a bad break at Fordyce, this is the third event for me in 2.5 weeks lol  I'm exhausted.  Not sure if I'll get my IFS box completely fixed by Wednesday, but it's still good to go for mild wheeling up and down Caddy and around the Springs.  I ripped it off the frame at Fordyce and it's completely welded on right now lol.  It's all good, but I don't want to wheel all the way from Loon.  Wheeled in that side a couple weeks ago anyway.

Come find me, we will be right past the springs camped to the left across the little creek crossing like last year (can't remember if you were with Jake and LB when they came over to our camp).  I'm sure I'll run into you anyway though.   :beerchug:

Update on the Helicopter:

They will be there so long as we can get fuel in. So we have a few people working on contacting the proper people who handle all that stuff.
