Just read through the build
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

slabcs

Thanks for checking it out!  Hope you liked it.

There's still more work to be done... just gotta find the time and motivation to do it.  Rear shocks, elocker switch panel, and a stereo are still on the to-do list.

Just got it home from the tint shop.

Its amazing how much of a difference a little tint makes.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

slabcs

Definitely.  It gives it that little final show truck touch.

It's super nice driving in it now too, lots of privacy and it's very shady in there.

May I ask how much they charged you to tint your windows?

damn that is one of the coolest paint jobs ive seen.
love the crossmember too.

Could update this a little bit.  CHP nailed me for tinted windows, no front plate, and mudflaps again.  So that's weak.  Reverse progress.

Before engaging cop mode:

What 5% tint looks like after you tear it off.

Super sweet TOTALLY necessary mudflaps.

After engaging cop mode:

Then over the summer I got around to installing my elocker switch panel.

Bling

Then I took it out for some wheeling.  Brought my dad along and we ran Slickrock and Deer Valley.  4Runner did great, elockers and air conditioning are really cool to have.

Last month I got to take it up to the Rubicon.  Great trip, no breaks at all in our group, and we got snowed on.  Having windows and a heater was nice.

Camped at Buck, and woke up to this

My front tires were rubbing fender on the Rubicon trip.  It wasn't too bad, but it was enough to fold up the splashguard and push the fender back a little bit.  The passenger door was scraping fender whenever it opened and closed.  So the plan was to move the front axle forward before I wheeled it anymore.

I scored some stock rear springs from a friend.

Stance before I dug in

New pitman arm from Sky (3/4 less than stock drop)

Marlin 4" springs removed.

Stock rear main used for mockup.

Hanger off.

Moved 3/4" forward, it is now flush with the frame.

Tire check.

Assembled my new leaf pack with the top two leafs from the stock rear pack instead of the top two Marlin leaves.

New stance.

Shackle angle is a little better than before.

That's it for now.  Maybe I'll 3.4 swap it soon.

Hey bro, i have a stupid question, why did you put flat plates between the frame and the rock sliders?? Im getting ready to in hang a set on my 4runner and i saw the pic with the plates.
I also wanted to add... You have a very sweet build up!!

slabcs

Update?  Took the plunge and ripped the engine and dash out.  First I had to warm up by pulling the 22R and dash out of my 84 4Runner.

Got it cleaned up while I had the chance.

A shot of the Relentless Runner pre-teardown.

The 22RE had a pretty bad knock ever since I got it, so while it was out I changed the rod bearings.  Also did some other little stuff like fuel filter, new plugs and wires, new belts, new oil pan and valve cover gaskets, and the yearly oil change.  Here's what the old rod bearings looked like.

Then it all went into the 84.  87 engine, wiring harness, dash, fuel tank... everything.  Got it running the night before taking off on a trip to The Hammers.  The fuel injection was great.  After that trip, I couldn't believe I made it so long with that old worthless carburetor...

And here she sits.
