ok guys here it is, i started the build friday night (or at least the SAS part of it, long story i'll tell it later!) so friday night we cut the IFS off and that was it then Saturday we got the whole front end done except for the shock hops and the brake lines.  here are a couple pics of it flex out before we started cutting, ill post up more tonight when i have more time!

thanks man!!  so this is actually my second SAS, my first was in the truck in my avator, it was a 90 pickup, it was awesome!  i wrecked it back in august but the engine was still good so i bought this 4Runner for 1000 bucks with a blown engine and just swapped them out.  the 4Runner was an auto though, so we were worried that it wouldnt work right and that it would take a lot of digging into the harness to make it work but all we had to do was put the thing in park and it runs like a champ, even fast past emissions, its sweet!!  so here are some more pics from this weekend!  we got the whole front end done on saturday and a lot of the rear end done on sunday.  i just have a few more things to do and ill be pimpin the runner on the trails. we are heading to moab in a couple weeks so it definitely has to be done by then!

here is the sweet toy we got to use (it pays to have a buddy that knows the right people!

here is me working on cutting the ifs off!  i love the plasma cutter!

here we have the upper A-arms off, and starting to tackle the fun!

man it feel right off it was the coolest thing ever!!

time to tackle all the brackets!!  whoohooo!!!

and here is my last truck, i loved that thing!! RIP!

hollywood_toy90

time for the rear! oh by the way, Phazertwo in my buddy and roommate so when i say we he is the one that has been helping me through this! i couldnt have done it without him, and another buddy of mine you guys rock!!  his truck will be getting the same treatment in a couple months!! we cant wait!

here everything is off already and ready for the new brackets and axle!

heres how is will sit when it is all said and done!! minus the 35's of course!  you can see them on the front! so it will sit a little higher in the rear which will be perfect!

here it is sitting on its own weight!

here is my co-pilot axle!!  he only looks mean in that pic, the only thing he would do is lick you to death!  you'll see more of him in wheeling pics!!

sorry man i have been super busy with school and work i havent had time to post the new pics, i have pics of me flexing it again, i will post those up very soon, i dont have my card on me.

hollywood_toy90

ok guys here are the updates.  it is now streetable, i got it aligned, all i need to do now is put my sliders on, do rear shocks, and install my air system for my ARBs and then wire them in, oh and i cant forget i have to cut down the front bumper and put it back on too.  here are some pics!

here is is right before i drove it out of the garage for the first time complete, it barley fit!

here she is!

here is the front flex

ok now for the rear!

so today i will be working in sliders!  i have them made already, they are the ones i had on my pickup, all i have to do it cut them down to size and repaint them, ill have pics up of them as soon as i can!

KDC

Dude, it looks pimp!  Did you move the steering box forward, or does it clear?

I kinda like the look with no bumper...but maybe if it wasn't chrome... :gap: haha

boggerunner

nice lookin runner, gonna run duals for moab?

hollywood_toy90

i wish that i would have duals for moab, but definitely not.  i barely had the dough to get all the parts i needed to get it this far, not to mention time.  duals are probably close to a year off. i do have one tranfercase already though, and know where i can get another one for free!  but i just dont have the money for the gears and adapters!  the steering is perfect!

boggerunner

when are u planning on goin to moab, i will be there with my 90 4runner the 28th - 30th

hollywood_toy90

we will be there from the 24th-29th.

boggerunner

any ideal on what trails u are gonna run on the 28th or 29th?

hollywood_toy90

well the 29th we are leaving so no trails, and the 28th i have no idea, we are planning on winging it.

hollywood_toy90

so i know its been awhile since i updated you guys, i got the rear shocks in and the sliders on before moab here are pics of them both.

rear shocks, was pretty easy to do, thought it was going to be harder but it really wasnt.

here is a pic from moab, it shows my sliders pretty well, its kind of hard to see them, but thats kind of the point.

so we did hells revenge first thing when we got to moab, and i went big right off the bat, i tried escalator! i needed a winch to get out with minimal body damage here are pics of that.

right when my back tire went in the hole and the winch came out.

whats moab without this pic!

bye bye birf number one!

we tried moab rim and then said good bye to birf number 2

a good flex pic on metal masher!

i have a lot left to do on my runner, but probably not until phazertwo's rig get a solid axle!!  so stay tuned, i have some cool things to come!

boggerunner

hollywood_toy90

oh yeah!! those are on the list!!  for sure!

SLIVER

SWEET PICS. I am going to moab in two weeks and your pics are getting me amped up man. Do you have a front locker?? I am open in the front still and I don't have any spare Birf joints yet, your breakage has me a little worried.

))--SLIVER-->
))--SLIVER-->

hollywood_toy90

yeah i have an arb front and rear.  i was locked and at full steer when i broke, so it was the stereotypical way of breaking a birf.  it is really hard to break a birf when you are open in the front, its hard to break anything open period, not saying it cant be done because it can i im sure i could do it, it just makes it a lot harder.  you should be fine, just watch out for big gaps and keep the go pedal under control and you should be fine!!! have a great time!

SLIVER

Your trip looked awesome. I am getting way stoked to go. You'll love it when you go duals, the best upgrade you can do to your 4runner IMO. It has made wheelin much easier on me and my rig since I did mine. Thanks for the re-assurance.

i am going to go with the 2.28 and 4.7 combo, it gives you a lot more options, dual 4.7 you have super slow and super duper duper slow.  i still want to keep the 2.28 option, to me that one makes more sense, you have slow, super slow, and super duper slow. being super duper duper slow, is a little to slow for a lot of stuff.
