Duel Case Spacing?
« on: Dec 04, 2007, 07:00:46 PM »
Im researching things for my build up.  I need to know in the cab how much room i need for duel cases.  Room for the sticks to shift and all.  anyone got any pics i can see for their duel case setups?

Yeah the plate and the crawl box pushes it back right around 6.5 inches.

The thing though is you gotta make sure there is room for the throw of the rear case to be in 4wd high.

The amount of throw on twin sticks vs a stock shifter is probably the same unless the twin sticks are longer because in that case the top of the shifter is obviously going back or forward more vs a shorter one.

Im going to guess 3-4 inches of throw ??? I dont know. Next tim youre in your truck just have it in 2high and then put it in 4 high and see ow much the shifter moves.

Here are a couple of pic's of my just installed setup. I found the throw of the twin stick to be nice and short about half that of the stock shifter.

You can use the hump on the tunnel to find out the placement.

sweet. thanks guys.  im trying to build a center console for my first gen for my switches eventuially.  I think im going to divide it up.  Instead of having my cb and scanner with my console im going to put them side by side against the pass seat and make a switch console and put that parallel with my drivers seat so i have about 4-5" space between teh two for my shifters.  you think that will be enough room?  if not i can always bent the shifters to fit right?
