Ok im going duelcase in my 84 runner.
Ive got the stock tranny dont remember which one it is its the one with both shifters in the transmission, should i use the case thats on it now for the high low range and use the one out of my 82 for the the 4x4 part or switch them?
Im thinking i use the stock one thats connected too the tranny for the lowrange part then put my stock 82 case behind it but just wondering what anyone else would do?
Im also going too drop the tank and put a fuelcell in the back and 4 link the rear using jeep cherokee front coils and move my rear axel back like 7 inches so i wont have too cut my existion rear driveshaft and also make my wheelbase longer at the sametime because ive went from a 113 inch wheelbase truck too a like 102 inch wheelbase 4runner and now it dont climb worth a :pokinit: because i get both tires on ledges at the same time.
What do you think i should do?
Will post pics when we start doing the 4 link and duelcase swap.
thanks for any help/ comments

If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.

UNBREAKABLE

You will have to split the case that is on it now to use for the hi/lo. reason being is the shifter.
That's how I roll

You have to use your forward shift t-case in front, that would be your case out of the runner.  Use the top shift in rear.  You will still need to split the top shift apart, all you need is the low range part.

you will not need to do anything to the top shift case.
just bolt it on the end.
you will need to use the existing front shift case as the crawler (hi/low) unit.
this case will need to be broken down to the reduction unit (front part of case) and the adapter bolted to it.
then the top shift case to the adapter.
