Well, the thing is that when a file is removed from the server in which a user's browser is trying to access, a HTTP 404 error occurs. This is a standard HTTP response code that in this case indicates that the client was able to communicate with the server because the server could not find what was requested.

This numeric response code is much like a MIME-type message: The first "4" indicates a client error, such as a mistyped URL. The following two "4" digits indicate the specific error encountered, such as those used in early protocols like FTP and NNTP.

In the case of usatoday.com, their server's hypertext access file has indicated a default HTML file in place of the standard Apache 404 error message, and is where the link posted above is taken once the server identifies the problem as "document not found", code 404.

That, my friend, is a pathetic attempt at discussing it. :tease:

Hi Mr Government Man.  Please put a tracking device in my car so that you can charge me more for driving because my fuel efficient car is cheating you of your rightful money.  While you are at it, would you monitor my movements and release all that data to the CIA FBI NSA and any other acronym you find necessary?

GREAT!

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

That would cost people that get better milage more and give less incentive to people that have gas guzzlers. The worse mileage you get the less you have to pay for taxes for more gas.

And who is paying for all the electronics to be installed and figure out the taxes and mail the bills out? That is a lot of stamp licking.

How is a state that adopts this policy going to collect revenue from interstate travellers? I think that's the point of collecting a tax at the pump. Guess they'll have to pull into a collection/permit station like interstate trucking has to. Can you say retarded.

If we get socialised healthcare...they can tell when you go to Jack in the Box and get six tacos...then they'll shoot you with a death ray from an orbiting "Health Enforcement" satellite.

I see no positive use for this system.

Road Damage (thus upkeep) is directly related to the weight of the vehicle.

Higher weight = more damage = lower mileage = higher taxes
Lower weight = less damage = higher mileage = lower taxes

Then there's more overhead for determining the miles driven (more wasted money)
