Do I have any examples?  Yup sure do, Ive got three buddies that all run xj's.  One was on 32's, another is on 35's while the 3rd is on 33's.  The one on 32's is ripped along the roof/driprail line above the rear hatch.  As is the one on 35's.  The one on 33's has ripped the door hinges off the cowl section fron being extremely wedged in a crevass.

The one that was on 32's now is sitting on a nissan frame.  I cut the unibody off and was completely amazed as to just how flimsy it truely is.  So yea Id say that I DO know what Im talking about on this subject. ;)
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

They are extremely flimsy, I used to have an 86 XJ with 35's 4:1 case arb front welded rear 4.55's blah blah blah you get the picture, but when it was all flexed out my doors wouldnt open. I also know a guy who had a late 80's XJ which was built really well and his doors wouldnt open either when it was all flexed out. maybe it was just our POS's but thats the reason I hate unibodies. Other than unibody jeeps i like them, like yj's and cj's are great.

And this one is for those who find them selves on a narrow trail realizing they don't have the right equipment to finish the run they can now turn around, tuck tail and run with ease.  :beerchug:  cheers to Jeep Co. for understanding their consumer base. :shake:

Yeah. I do. He's a good guy. I don't know how well he's going to take his truck being an example of how not to do it, because I have to hand it to him it looks cool coming down the road. But he needs to rework that suspension, badly.

I think its a cool truck for what he built it for, he didnt build it as a hard core wheeler by what i read but it seems to be more of a sick huge truck to drive around so i think its pretty sweet.

I think he knows his truck has no flex, he started the NO FLEX thread that the picture comes from. He has stated many times that his suspension sucks and was not made for rockcrawling.

Here's the story:

Bought a 1993 2WD T100 Standard Cab with a 3VZ-E and an R150 and only 70K miles as a daily driver because the Jeep kept blowing up - it's trail rig status was long overdue.

I drove the Yota for about 6 weeks and then the transmission grenaded - I'm gonna blame it on the previous owner because I drive like a grandma, and the rear bumper was all f'd up from lots of trailering.

It got transmission #2, a used R150 from NY, didn't work, no 2nd or 4th, never drove it
It got transmission #3, a reman R150 from Minnesota, didn't work, no 2nd or 4th, never drove it
It got transmission #4, a reman from VA, didn't really work, 2nd is iffy, 3rd is too shallow, 4th is too shallow
That's what's in it now for daily driver duty (I was without a working automobile for 10 weeks June 16 thru Sept 6th, had to get back on the road)

I'm blaming it on the inability of American mechanics to rebuild an R150.

The XJ blowing the engine (first) and the torque converter (second, that's when I bought the Yota) is understandable, she went swimming.
